Default DA 100 Help

Can anyone come up with some help so I can fly tomorrow.

I have fitted a new DA 100 into a CAP 589.

The engine starts well and runs smoothly but only to 2500 rpm, it will not run faster. Throttle is opening all the way and the choke is not stuck closed.

The fuel supply is good and have tried all adjustments on the carb. I am using a Mezlick 27/10 prop.

Any sugestions please

Are you sure both cylinders are running?

Sometimes one half of the ignition fails. After the engine runs at 2500 rpm for about 30 or 60 seconds, feel the cylinder temperature. Is one cold and the other hot? If so, swap the ignition wires and repeat the test.

If it is running on only one cylinder do not run it that way very long. The one working cylinder tends to get hot very fast.

Warick
A DA 100 will start and run with the pickup plug in backwards, but won't achieve any rpm. Look at at the plug from the engine and make sure the wire colors match where it connects to the ignition. I'll bet money thats your problem. Hope this helps
