Machines make the motor parts, they run for the same hourly wage. Small businesses with quality parts can compete in any field. It's big companys with big labor costs that suffer from unevan competition. It wont be long before Chineese workers want all the luxuries we enjoy and will demand an equal wage.

Keith, I have to say I'm impressed with your coming on this site and talking about your product, and marketing ideas.. Thank you for your honesty. You have hit the nail right on the head, bravo! It's rare to find an innovator that is also good at marketing or vise versa. I think you have learned that you give the people what they want, instead of giving them what you think they should have. Thank you for apealing to all classes. Not everybody wants an expensive DA-50, expensive and heavy 3W, or others. Especially now that you can buy a DL-50and muffler for nearly half the price, not to mention better performance. The expensive/high profit engines were keeping a lot of people out of the gas planes.
Some People think the cheap chineese engines are bad for the hobby and the USA. Lets think about that. The Beautiful Chineese ARF's have actually spawned the demand for the majority of engines being sold today. New, liter and more powerful engines will put more life into the ARF sales, wheels, props, servo's CF landing gears, wing tubes titanium axles, fuel tanks, fuel line, trailers to haul the bigger planes, AMA members, Club members. I certainly don't hear anybody complaining about all the new planes being sold. Not long ago, only a select few could efford to fly gas.
Personally, I'm not in the market for another 50cc DL-50 equivilent, however I'm definatly down for a lite 58cc if it will swing a 24x8 with authority and quick throttle response. (DA-50s and DL's won't give me the throttle response I need with the bigger props.) We need bigger props to get more of the the working end of the prop outside the cowl on the Yaks.
Keep the info coming, when do you expect to release the 58cc, and some numbers would be great.

BME has a history of stealthware. I have 2 BME 55's myself.

When is this engine available? Any more testing RPMs data? I'd imagine with porting it would benefit from a tuned pipe. Is this a high quality cylinder/ring combination that will last a long time? Can it use the CM6 plug and DA50 ignition?

Well, I'm willing to take the chance on this being another outstanding product from BME. I called Keith and prepaid. I'll let everyone know the details when mine shows up. Keith has assured me these engines are being built. For $299 it certainly looks to be a bargain. I am so impressed with my old 102 that I just had to take the chance.
Now if we could just figure out how to get Keith more time in a day maybe we could see a new high performance 58. If it happens I will likely buy one, if not, well I'm not in a hurry anyway.

Still no info on ship date. I have sent a number of email to Keith asking what to expect for a delivery date. Strangely I've not gotten any reply. Phone seems to be a hit or miss thing. I spoke with him twice in early July, but since then have gotten just a busy signal or unanswered ringing. I'm not sure what's up or what to expect. I was led to believe these would start shipping Aug 1, but that date has come and gone with no one admitting on this forum that they've received one.
I'm growing concerned. Has anyone heard anything?

Steve went on vacation and that put him behind. He has been busy repairing engines sent in by people who have had mis-haps. I "think" Steve is back now, so he should start catching up soon.

Keith just contacted me. He said the new 50 has been delayed a bit. I have followed up with him to determine how much of an impact this will be.
I guess I'm just very eager to get this engine! I know I'm hoping for miracles, but maybe it will be better than my Brison 3.2 which is now in engine heaven.
I'll post when I hear more.

Hey krazyc-RCU the Brison was damaged by ground impact. It looks pretty good, but some fins in the back are missing now. Need a new cyclinder and I need to send ignition to CH for rebuilt (It's very flat now). Not sure if it's worth it.

If all thats wrong is a few fins are missing, I would not worry. Chances are it will be just fine, if not all you will need is a new cyllinder and pistion assembly. Lots of guys fly with broken fins. I have too.

Thats a shame, I wonder what the hold up is. Did he say anything about the 58? In reality, thats the engine that will will the void in the engine market. I bet is sells like hotcakes. I guess he will have to build it first
