Default Mounting Gas ENGINE

I have a LANIER 1/4 Scale EXTRA 300 that was already Drilled out for another Engine. Mine wont Fit the Holes. So Do I Knock out the Blind Nuts and Refill Holes with Wood Filler and Jus Drill out new holes and New Blindnuts Or Wat?

Thanks I am new to GAS..

I personally would use epoxy and hardwood dowels to fill the existing holes. This would give you a more uniform structure without having divets of filler.

Rear carb engines require you to cut a 2 to 3 inch hole in the firewall for the carb to set. Having a couple extra holes in the firewall just means it's lighter.

Usually blind nuts are not used on gassers. Standoffs, bolts, big washers on the firewall, and lock nuts (with lock tite).

I kind of like having blind nuts on the back side of the firewall to get everything lined up and bolted on, my hands/arms just have a problem on some models trying to hold the engine/standoffs/bolts/nuts all at the same time. But I DO put locknuts on the backside of the blindnuts as well after it's all bolted up...[8D]
