I'm not really that savvy in the gas engine area. I've heard of magneto or the areas like CH ignition. Take some of the Zenoahs that come with Magneto. Whats the difference or why is one better than the other?

Magneto gas have been around forever. They just take a little extra care to set up the radio equipment as to keep rfi down. They can be a little more tricky to start when cold, unless you get one that has a mechanical advance, then they're not as bad.

The EI motors, now they're sweet, and are the reason I will probably never go back to magneto. 1st, I love having the ability to put an optical kill switch in. They're also generally very easy to start, idle beautifully and transitions are awesome! I also love that I can mount my ignition battery, throttle and choke servo's etc.. all right next to the motor.

I don't think anyone logically can say one is better than the other. It's just up to you.

I think you have it backwards... EI is the one you need to watch for RF.

Other than that you hit it right.

Also have to keep in mind that MAG is heavier but more bullet proof. Not that there is probs with EI because there isn't. However sometimes your EI goes bad from time to time.. some times never. Mag will almost run forever.

Mags are super reliable moreso than their electronic counterparts but their major drawback is that they add weight. Just converting my G23 from mag to elec ign made it a lb. lighter.

Mag engines if set up correctly just need a bit more effort to start due to the fact that they need a hefty spin to generate a spark. As Sinergy said elec ign do make for real easy starting and smooth running engines.

Of course you have to take special care to avoid radio interference from them, but with the quality systems now available thats' hardly a problem anymore.
