sinergy,

This little gasser is cranking out the rpm's at 9600. What plane are you putting it on and what is the weight? I've been thinking about the WH Baby Extra 260.

sinergy,

Does the engine come with a black rubber boot for the plug and a ground wire? I always got Scott to put the Bosch cap on everything I bought. Is there a choke on the carb???

Is the new 26 a Echo based engine? By reading...it sounds and looks like a powerhouse! Capt,n

Zippi, comes with the CH - RCExcel ign. with the black lcovered spark plug lead and a chrome cap.

Captin It's not echo based... I am not sure what it is based off of to be honest. I can tell you it hit 9900 rpm on 2nd tank of fuel with that mejzlik 16x8 I think for the weight and power it's gonna be an awesome engine. Def. looking to get some time on it. Going to see what it does in this plane and maybe try an ES Comp pipe as well just for fun.

I flew my 10.5lb SuperStar yesterday with the 26cc. What a great performing engine with all of the power I was hoping for. It was all (and more) that Scott had told me it would be[8D]

Those numbers sound too good. About same than MVVS 26 with pipe. Side carb and weight are not so good, but power for a 26cc engine really is awesome.

sinergy,

Next time you talk with Scott, ask him what block is being used for the 26cc. The original 25cc that had a Toro block was very easy to flip start but the 26cc SPE block that followed had to be started with a starter. How is this new 26cc on starting?

This 26 starts fine by hand. However if you get it a little rich set and flood it then it's a pain to start I hear. Course flooded most engines are.

I am plugging away... I need to finish covering the fuse tonight and then I can mount the motor and then start radio gear etc. With any luck I will have the motor mounted tonight

The only thing...what 26cc version is this now? It seems like *Brillelli* has come up with2-3 versions....making the older versions kinda dinasore engines that is outdated and nobody wants. Kinda exciting...ya...but kinda leaves you up in the air about ever getting one. But thats just my opinion[:-] I miss the good old engine guy that gave you right on the money data. best Regards to all...and to all a good-nite! Capt,n

The first 25 I did was the Toro based engines. You can not find them anymore so I had to stop doing them. Then I reworked the SPE 26. Cermark got the exclusive to them so I was out again. Then I found one that was about the same in power as the SPE and in weight that I will still do if requested. The supply of them also became limited so I kept looking. This one is based on high performance parts that are easy for me to get and will be for quite some time.

I don't just jump from engine to engine. My 46 has been around for ovewr 3 years now. The 60 has also been here for close to 2 years. The 26 has just been a challange to find an engine that makes power at a low weight and resonable cost. It took a while, but I finally have one. No one else builds it, and that is how I like it. I am done with the Chinese engines that everyone and thier brother sells. The engines I build, I alone build. I have a good solid source for all of the engine parts I use now so my current lineup will not be changing except to add an 80 and 120 twin.

Scott,

Is the "Frank Bowman" ring available for this engine? Do you have the Bosch plug cap for this engine? What block is this engine based off of? I have the OS 120AX which is 3.1 Hp running a APC 17X6 prop at 9300 rpm. This engine is on the Aeroworks .90-1.20 YAK 54 at 8-10 lbs with unlimited vertical. Your little 26cc pumping out close to 10,000 rpm is heads ubove the OS 120AX. I just might have to have one of these for my winter project.

John hit it about right. Can't give up all my secrets. The engine uses the CH Excell EI with the metal shielded cap and a CM-6 plug.

Damn the bad luck. Can't blame a guy for trying . The 3 Brillelli engines I've bought have all been great and the customer service from Scott has been great as well. I consider most of the others to be a "Call-In Center" and not customer service like Brillelli and that's why the new 26cc has peaked my interest.

Well I had her at the field today briefly.. spent 5 hrs this morning doing finishing touches. Unfortunately I didn't do any baffling and tried to keep my cowl too nice. I didn't realize it but the top 3 or 4 fins were not showing.. forgot to open a hole Thats what I get for trying to rush it to the field... winter is coming

It was worth rushing around though.. EF Yak weight is about 11.25 pounds as it sits and have unlimited verticle with an 18x6 Top Flite prop (all I couldnt find ) and tunred 8760 out of the box.

Looking forward to getting a real prop on it and it properly tuned... more next weekend

Well I am a happy camper.... Did my first run with a 18x6 prop and this engine was screaming.... Since I have to bring the noise down I am going to use a 18x8 or even a 3-blade 17x6... This engine has no power problems, it pulls like crazy and its new, I did not even run a tank on the ground, ran about 5mins on the ground and then took to the sky flying high and not pushing too much..... With full throttle the noise and the torque is out of this world.... I will be getting the rpms next time on the field but for now I took a very rough video with my cellphone and here it is....

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q_CSjgq5Ilc

Keep flying..

cosmospho,

Nice video. The engine sounds really good and sounds like its running well over 9000 rpm. I'd really like to get one of these little gassers for my winter project but I haven't made up my mind just yet on what I'm getting. The WH Extra 260 120 is what I'm looking at.

Hi Zippi,

This baby for a 120 plane will pull vertical non-stop..... I fly my .90 CMPRO Edge the full IMAC with half throttle... I think if I use full it will tear the plane apart .... I had a 90 Super Tigre on it and it was too heavy for it, but now with this engine its like a feather...
I would highly recommend this engine for all 120 to 140 size planes.... Its around the same cost as a good methanol engine and with a 16oz tank it can run for 30mins or more.... This weekend if its now snowing or -10c I will take some more video and tach the engine... I am going to change that MAC prop for a Menz, it should keep the noise down, but I hope it doesn't pull the firewall out [X(]

Take care...

What kind of a prop are you using in that video?
