Scott, how much heavier would the larger muffler be compared to the standard one. My Sukhoi is slightly nose heavy already, I had to move the battery and radio behind the wing bolt mounts to get it to balance. As you can see I have some room in that round cowl to get a bigger muffler in it. Let me know what the dimensions are on the quieter one. I took the stack off so it fits in the cowl.

It would be about 4-5 oz heavier. That is the problem with a rear dump. It takes a lot more alluminum to make it. I am not sure what a Bisson muffler would weigh, but it would be close to the same as the ones I make. 7-9oz.

I don't need a rear dump or wrap around, just a bit less noise, with out a bunch of weight.

If you can snd me a pic of the engine installed, I can come up with somthing I am sure. It will be a little heavier, but it sounds like that will not be a problem. It will be quieter as well. There needs to be space behind the head for the muffler. A good 1 3/4". I use 1 1/2" pipe for that. I could use square tubing to make it a little less like 1 1/4" for some clearence.

Behind the head I have 1 3/8",directly behind the exhaust port I have 1.5" Im using a 2" standoffs plus a couple of washers. If that helps. The stock muffler off the head(square part)fits very nice behind the head. I cant go any wider of the stock muffler cuz Id have to cut a bunch of the cowl out..
See if these pics I have helps..
Thanks,Scott,
Frank

I have my 26SSR in a new wild hare baby edge. Let me tell you this is a perfect airframe engine combo.
Total setup minus fuel 9.8lbs.
One of the guys at the field asked me what 50cc engine I had in it since it flew and sounded like a much bigger plane.
Thanks Scott for putting out a great engine.

I spoke with Scott about 2 weeks ago or so and at that time he mentioned that he had been or was still waiting for carburettors to finalize the engines. [my engine was ordered on 3/4/08!]

After talking to Scott about making my SPE 26cc engine better I decided to get a Brillelli.
Ordered a 26SSR on 2-28-08, money transferred on 2-29.
Talked to Scott when he was at Toledo (Sat 3-29) and he said mine would ship the following week. No engine.
Then left a voice message a few weeks later and received an email from Scott (Thu 5-8) that it would ship yet that week. No engine.
I have left several voice messages and emails during the last week (5-22 to today 5-28) asking for a refund and have received no response.
It appears that some people can contact Scott, when others can not.
Would someone in his inner circle please let him know that I would like a refund of $337.95 (325 plus shipping 12.95).
I hate to bring this out in the forum, but no response has prompted this entry.
Thank you.

Hi Bill,
I am sorry for not repnding. The last few months have been pretty bad for me. Between my health problems, A death in the family, and parts going backorder, nothing has went right. Anyone with an engine on order, you will recieve it. I am not going anywere. Orders have slowed way down so I expect to be completley caught up here in the next few weeks and maybe even get a few engines on the shelf. That would be nice for a change.
Bill. I will send you an email as well. I am very behind on emails and phone messages. The past few weeks I call someone back and while I am taling to them I get 3 more messages Then when I check thoise messages I get 2-3 more. That is how it has been latley. It is impossable to keep up and get engines built. I do not screen my calls. Getting ahold of me is just a matter of me hearing the phone at the time and not being on it with someone else.
In a couple more weeks I will be past this hump and everything should be back to normal again.

Scott,
I checked my email before responding here.
I appreciate your burden, however I have waited for three months and believe that is reasonable patience.
Please refund my payment.
Thank you,
Bill Martins

Bill and others who may be waiting for a Brillelli 26SSR from Scott.
I ordered mine on 2/21. I talked to Scott on three occasions after that and got shipping dates that were not met. Finally I received my engine on 5/20, three months waiting time. It looks great. I have not started it yet, but if it performs like the others in the above posts, I will be more than happy. I am putting it in a Maxair Velox. I will post pictures during construction.

Hello All,
Can someone post me a picture of the throttle linkage and how you did yours.... I have had a few problems on the throttle and engine all around and yesterday I finally found that my throttle linkage has some play because the linkage hole in the throttle is wider than the link pin (I hope you know what I mean)... What did you guys do to take away the slop ?? Should I just replace the throttle link with a servo horn ??
Thanks

I don't have a picture handy but you shouldn't be using a clevis on the throttle arm.
The throttle arm is designed around a 2/56 ball link connector. It is tapped for it.. all you do is blue lock tite the ball in place and snap the link on.

Are you sure? Mine has just a standard Walbro throttle "arm" on it, nothing that's tapped to take a ball link. Is the arm you're talking about available separately?

Here is a picture of the carb and linkage on my SPE 26. The carb linkage is the same as the Brillelli Carb. I drilled and taped the choke arm for a 4-40 screw. I Made my own lever arms. I used the 2-56 ball link.
