Default Best combination for 3D

Hi all

Have just flown my Showtime 90 with 28i 3W. Hover at 3rd throttle. Plane flies great. If jou are a 3D fan get yourself a Showtime 90 and a 3w 28i. Nothing to match the performance.

Flying weight is 10.25lb. Using Hitec 645 MG Ultra High Torque, two for elevator, one for rudder, one per aileron, 425 BB Hitec for Throttle. The rudder servo is mounted at the back for the weight needed for the 3W infront. Using a 18/8 3w Wooden Prop. It flies very light although a bit on the heavy side, but will hover at 3rd throttle and pull out at just over 3rd throttle. I must just be carefull not to fly it to fast, because it could pick up flutter. Most flying is done from just above idle to 3rd throttle. I use a JR 2720 for the radio. Put on bigger wheels for the ground clearance for the 18/8.

Want to get the CMP Yak 140 size to try out the 3w in it. Think it would also handle very well.

Hey Morney,

Don't get the CMP Yak, it's way to heavy, wait a bit until Brian's Hobbies gets the Areoworks 120 size Yak, now there is a plane....
The CMP Yak will look good, but will make you look bad.
Bin there done that.
Regards
Dries

The best combination has lots of wing area, large surfaces, light weight, tons of power, and capable fingers on the sticks. None of the brand names matter.

Hi Guys,

Pat is right! But since I had the CMP Yak 54 I can tell you that its tooooooo heavy, I can't remember exactly, but it had a wing loading of more than 100g/ square dm or more than 30oz per square foot, on a plane that size its no good. I had a OS-BGX in her, and still had to add weight to the nose, final weight was somewhere around 6,5KG
regards
Dries
