No problem, you are right about the weight, just that the Zenoah 62 have been around for a long time and are just about bullet prof.

Milton, BCMA Engines tried to do the same thing with a G-62... not sure why they stopped selling them? Lightening them is nothing new.. many still do it. There has always been US support for this motor.

Yes there has alway's been support for the G62, This engine is coming form China already converted and will not be supported by G62 dealers or distibutor's

Hope I am right about what I am saying here, It will come with a two year warranty on complete engine and also comes with muffler with two outlets for best power.

Hope to have my hands on one before long to check it out.

I think one of the big differnce is in the past if you wanted a G62 with electronic you had to buy the G62 and then buy the conversion kit or have it done, Cost from $129.00 and up.

Your total cost would be from $520.00 and up according to how you had it converted and by who.

I think thats what BCMA was doing since their price was like $425 complete. I don't know it didn't last long for some reason.

I don't know why they did not last either, Never seen one, I know I have flown Zenoah for years and they never give up.

I think these will be around $389.00 or $399.00, Hope to get all the info I can later.

Milton,

Who is going to carry these engines? I saw the BCMA logo on the RCEXCL ignition in your picture so I assumed BCMA would carry it.

That engine is not a true G62. BCMA was going to sell it until he found out it was a clone made in China. The real G62 is made in Japan. That is why it is so cheap. I have delat with the guy in China that is doing it. That means no support from Zenoah, or any Zenoah dealer.

We will find out for sure in a week or so, I know the guy in China also, go back for 4 or 5 years when I used to convert Poland and Echo engines.

This is a post from back then
http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_37.../tm.htm#377768

That engine is still flying a 80" Extra,

So I did not just get of the bus, Have been around for a while and will know what I have in my hands when I get it.

Make deal with you, You don't believe what you are being told and I want believe what I am being told untill all the ducks are lined up and see if they all quack to the same tune.

this conversion kits are about 149 or even up .so total cost of EI conversion G62 will be ......574 or more , I perfer buy 366GT or DA as this price , so this conversion kit are for the people who have G62 already . not for who are going to buy G62 and convert it to EI, cost too much . not worth it I think.

Tomy,

Milton is talking about an electronic ignition-converted 62cc engine, with muffler, ready to go, for $399. That might be a valid option for some people.

I am no Ralph Cunningham but I do know a lot about Zenoah engines. Check the back of the cylinder to see if Zenoah name is cast into the cylinder. If it is than the cylinder is genuine Zenoah. There are a lot of Zenoah clones and copies out there manufactured in China. I have been invited many times by these manufactures to resell them but I am just not in the knock-off engine business.

BTW, I stopped doing the Zenoah conversion for a couple of reasons.

The source of cheap G-62s kind of dried up.

They were slow selling even at $425.00!!

Profit margin was slim so they were not really worth the effort especially when I had to carry the warranty on them.

I will be selling the EI conversion kits for them again as well as all the other Zenoah Engines. All parts will be machined in the USA by a very reputable and well known company.

Have been doing a little research on this matter about Zenoah, Now the parts are made in China and are assembled in Japan,

October 1999 Established Zenoah Changzhou Machine Co., Ltd. in China

All the Zenoah parts can be bought through zenoah with name on cylinder heads or can be bought in China without the name on cylinder. The cost is about $30.00 per cylinder more.

Now if someone really wanted to deceive people they could get the Zenoah cylinder from supplier in Japan and all other parts from China and no one could tell the difference.

All the parts will enterchange

Now I have found out that the engines that I posted about do not have the Zenoah name on cylinders but are of the same quality. They will come with the RC Xel ignition just like most of the engines coming out of China and carry a two year warranty. This are not engines that are being sold without testing, Thay have been flown and tested in China for a while now.

Time will tell as with all the products out of China

As for china made clones or knock offs, Have had this said about a lot of products out of China and about 90% of all RC products out of China are clone or knock offs of some product.

Look at the DL50, When first introduced to the market was called a knock off of the DA50 and was bashed hard by a lot of hobbyist and look at it now.

Just look at the most used forum post here in the gas engine section, All are about China made gas engines Why because of the low cost.

Just some of my thoughts

can find dirt cheap engine like CRRC or SPE or some conversion engine in the market . if you looking for the cheap one , sure you can get it , and most of time you get the engine cheap with not good quility or serves that for sure , because the quility and serves cost money , so what you going to to ? it's very simple or confuse question for you

Get yourself a Zenoah 38, 45 or 62....or look into the conversions Scott at Brillelli sets up. Either of these will offer you the most durable and dependable US supported engine for your dollar. You can pay more, and you can pay less....but when considering 'bang for your buck' and all around satisfaction, I'd be surprised if you could do better.
