I wonder if what is happening is that the engine manufacturer is selling the parts for complete engines, but not assembling them?

Some of the assembly work appears to be very amateurish, such as using silicone sealing material in a gas/petrol engine.

Perhaps it would be better if they gave us a price break and sent us the parts to assemble, if this is truly the case?

Hi Simou

To start the SV100 you really need to choke it well.

By that I mean place your thumb on the intake of the carb and prime the engine until you get fuel coming out (A LOT) don’t panic the thing is that the carb sits quite low from the motor so it takes a while for the fuel to reach the plugs,

I had the same problem when I tried to start mine for the first time.
It always wanted to start but it never got started.

If you really prime it hard it will start.
Best off luck

ty Francis for the reply,
my problem is that a few weeks ago i moved needles from their original position, and now i dont remember the originale setting!
I remember a strange number of turns, far away from 1 1/2 as usual... it was 3-4 turns or so.
So I was asking the setting of a running engine, as rough tuning.
This is not my first gas engine, but it's the first i cant get to start.

Regarding the Carb setting on my SV100 are us follows,

Lower needle is 1 ¾ turns
High needle is ¾ turns

The only needle I had to touch is the lower one as it was to rich.
The Motor starts after a good prime on the third flick.

Hope this Helps.

I have also changed the spark plugs I did not like the spark it was
Producing the spark plug used is NGK BPMR6F
The motor has improved on the idle and the transition by far.

I have also ordered a new set of NGK
As in my case as shown in the pictures posted, My motor is spilling oil from the thread of the plugs.

Make sure you choke closes all the way. The carb doesn't know what engine it's on, set it at Francis L M
settings. If it doesn't start flip the engine upside down squirt a little gas into the carb, turn it back rightside up, flip the prop, if it starts your choke isn't fully closed.

Assembled by amateurs

No manual

No written warranty (HELLO...........)

Silicone for sealant

Reeds don't sit flush

Got to file down the bushing

Leaks oil from the plug threads

Made a new set of gaskets

Wow, this engine sounds like a real steal! Although at this point I'm not sure who got taken

While I agree that those issues should not exist, and will do harm in their sales, I look at it from another aspect. For the hour or so that it would take me to disassemble the engine and straighten a few things out that are not faults of the engine but the assembler, I would be saving around $500.00. I could buy a quarter scale or larger ARF from the savings alone.

The really bad part is that not everyone is mechanically inclined enough to do the needed "fixes", and from there the engine will get a bad reputation and probably not stay on the market.

Just my position....

That makes perfect senses to me...

On top of that you have that warm fuzzy feeling of accomplishment. You
are the proud new owner of a rebuild, brand new engine. It is installed in
your brand new ARF. You can drive to the feild cofident that the rest of the
engine is built to the same high quality standards that will last for years to
come. You can fly with confidence knowing that the engine will stay running
and not re-kit your brand new ARF.

Someone else had a great idea....

Maybe they should sell use engine KITS... ARS motors, Almost Ready to Start!
Only minor machining required, instruction manual optional.

My Twin arrived yesterday--think I will send it back...if I can...

Mr DJ
I didn’t send it back. There’s a lemon in everything that exist—he just go one…

The reason I believe oil leaked from the plugs because the plugs arrived with no washers.

I wish I had a test stand like his—I think he got it from Grpo or something like that, but I can’t find it here stateside.

Anyways, I’m keepin’ it—may report any sortcomings once I fire it up.

Unforturnaltely, it will be awhile before I fire it up—I finally started building my Yellow Aircraft F-15 Turbine—slowly but surely… But even that will end once my turbine trainer arrives in Apr: Shokjet

I don't know why people even use 6.0 volt battery packs on these Chinese engines. Ignitions burning up on 6.0 volts ain't new. 4.8 works just a good, and you don't hear of them burning up nearly as much.

The CDI that comes with is motor is rated from 4.8v to 6.0v . My battery pack wasn't fully charged as it had a 45min flight on a 6 servos sailplane, before to plug in the CDI.

All consumers:

Perhaps this CDI design is not very good.

looks like RCEXL ignition .
but not RCCDI manufacture.
asks the consumer to pay attention to the difference.
