Hey Pat,

Don't cha know that they Used to make an approved oil. It was called Avoil and was a 50w AD oil. How do I know? Cause I still have about 5 cases of it on the shelf up at my folks house. Dad has saved it in thinking that one day he might get another 100% plane and now at age 80 it probably won't happen.

I wold be so curious to know why the discontinued it. ( I could not find any mention on the current Amsoil website) Was it product liability insurance issue (happens alot in GA) or was it the product. I know that they had FAA certification 20 years ago when I jobbered the line.

I don't have any desire to go into that part of a discussion on an open forum. It would get out of hand very quickly. I was flying full scale and pretty involved in the ins and outs at that time as well.
