Default MVVS 26 ignition question

I can't seem to find anything on the dual magnet system installed in the MVVS26. Do all MVVS26 engines come with this? One is south pole the other is north. Mine comes with the new ignition system.
How does this system work and will the rcexl system work as a plug and play or does the timing need to be readjusted. Thanks

The RC Xcl is not plug and play with a 2 magnet MVVS engine. Send a PM to Pe Reivers and get the straight how to's about using the ignition you have.

Thanks Pat, but can you explain to me how this 2 magnet system works? Is it for better mapping of the ignition curve?

I think the two magnet setup prevents the engine from running backwards.

The RCEXl will be timed wrong if you install it on the MVVS factory mount. You can grind off the Mvvs mount and move the sensor so the the timing is correct. Then drill and tap new mounting holes.

ORIGINAL: Skypilot_one

I think the two magnet setup prevents the engine from running backwards.
Only if the unit is the latest one with the magnets on the prop hub at 120degs from each other, the earlier units with the magnets at 180degs would still start backwards.
