RCGF Engines
#6026
I'm really liking all that I am hearing about the new RCGF beam mount 26cc engine, especially having an all up weight of 32ozs. as I might be in the market for a replacement engine for my 65" span scratch built profile.

I am sure you no this but your spark plug cap on this engine is not all the way on.Snap ring must go past the hex on spark plug.Spent a couple of years in Benson AZ about 30 years ago. I flew about every week end with the guys from Sierra Vista.I think there all gone now.

Hi,
The RCGF 26cc Beam Mount has tons of power for it's size. I am flying my pancake YAK 54 with the Beta RCGF 26cc beam mount engine using an 18x8 Xoar prop.
It looks like it is putting out about 5% to 10% more power then the V2 20cc Beam Mount does.

Hi Bob T.
Yes as a matter of fact I have a 31% YAK 54 91" span with an RCGF 62cc rear draft engine in it. To me it has as much or more then the Zanoah G62. The RCGF 62cc will most likely be going away to be replaced be the New RCGF 60cc engine. Now if you need usable nose weight then I would look for the RCGF 62cc over the new 60cc engine. "Save the lead for your car tires." If you need one I have one or two still in stock.

Who did you get your engine from? What is the altitude at your location, and who's 15x8 prop are you using? You might need to re-time it a bit. Let me know this info ad we can go from there. Thanx

I have been running a RCGF26 with no problems in an old bird and now installing it in a different bird kind of a quick change all new wiring, rcgf ign box, switch, battery (4.8 V) and can not get the ign to work when turning it over I have checked all connections and continuity avery thing seam to be the same in both birds. I can get a spark when tthe magnet is under the hall senser and turn the switch on. So is it possible to have a brand new ign and be bad.
any help or suggestions

I am beginning to have a problem with RCGF. I believe their engines are of good quality and I have several, but the prices are not as far from other quality engines as they used to be. And with some/most of the larger engines RCGF has actually became higher priced. Yea! Yea! I know, supply and demand.

This is to all of my blog Buddies out there in cyberland USA.... "RCGF" is celebrating10 years as a hobby engine manufacture. So as part of this celebration RCGF has authorized me to offer up a BIG give-a-way. You have a chance to win one of the all new RCGF 60cc single Rear Draft engines very soon. There will be multiple winners so don't delay. If you want to be put into the drawing please send me a "PM" and share your thoughts and ideas on how you will use the engine and how soon. I will put all comers into the bag and as soon as all entries are in, my son will draw the names of the winners. I can tell you this is the most powerful 60cc size engine that I have ever flown. I look forward to seeing all of you here in the USA joining in on this great give-a-way. Stay tuned...!!

Well being that you asked,
20cc, Graves-DLE=249.99 and RCGF at SAV=255.00, and BP=235
30cc, Graves-DLE=285 and RCGF at SAV=305, BP=269
60cc, GravesDLE=549.99 and RCGF at SAV 560, BP=492
Even though BP is the best price they are higher than they were a short time ago.
But in the grand scheme of thing's they are all affordable to those who can afford the hobby.

Hi Bob,
It could be your halls switch is bad.... that is the magnet pick-up, of course this is just a "WAG" without seeing it and playing with it a bit. How old is the engine and how did you buy it from?

Hi Captmicom
This one I got from Henery about 5 years back while at Toledo it has never even coffed, it has been flying my 23+ year old Dragon Lady at hyper speed, and like I said I just flew it about a week a go.
I just bought the CDI unit switch harnes From my LHS they were brand new in original packaging, the battery is a new one I picked up at Toledo this past spring and checks out good on a hi load.
As I said in a previus post I have checked and double checked all conectors, and all check out with a meeter
I do have a new 26 in a new bipe that I have not ran as yet as the weather hear is to cold for this old man, and the system in that bird check good nice blue spark, it would be easy to change the senson but not the whole system as it fits in with a shoe horn.
I will change the sensor and let you know
Cheers Bob T
