Default BME 150cc

Thought I seen that some one was running the new BME 150. Any picks, prop, rpm numbers yet? Thanks.

I believe Tom over at BME stated that the one they we're testing and still flying was a complete beast! he also mentioned he had already sold a few , but i haven't seen anyone post any info on them yet.

There is only one 150 running at this time that I am aware of. They have not sold any. Out of the box it turned a Mej 30x12 about 400 RPM less than my well broken in DA on cannisters. The engine runs awesome and cut 2 pounds out of my plane. My 42% Dalton 260 now weighs 35 pounds. This was a baseline engine to see how it went. They will be tweeking the design to get some more woer out of it. I don't know if there is a release time frame set yet. I am breaking it in on a 30x10 Mej currently and it turns 6100. The last flight I could tell it was starting to pick up some RPM so I may need to tack again.

Let me just say this motor is not intended for a 40+lb 40% plane. It is really more suited toward light 40%ers or porky 35% planes. It weighs the same as a 3W 106 but has WAY more power. What amazed me the most is how it fired right up and ran with no burble regardles of what attitude it was flown.

I am taking it to Clover Creek IMAC contest next week and will be competing in Intermediate. I flew it last weekend at a contest. Tom plans to have the next test version at my house when I get back so we can tell how things have changed.

with the same weight as my DLE111 I ordered a BME 150 from Tom thinking I can run it a bit rich and wouldnt over heat or die , I had to run the DLe111 about right to get power but my I felt my Extreme flight Yak 110' was just too big for the DLE111, has anyone done this? like put the light bme 150 on a 35% plane?

It's been done and it works great. Someone with a 35% Wild Hare did it I believe.

I have one in a comp arf 35% extra 330 and its just awesome. Unlimited vertical. It like a 30x10 prop but a 3 blade would be better for ground clearance on a 35% plane. It still comes in at less weight than a chinese 100cc powered plane.

On a bigger 35% bird like the EF yak , the BME 150 would be the best choice possible. IF i was building that bird , there would be no question about it.

You don't need another engine.... Gary might with the big Yak though.

I would have to go with that one as well...
