Oh and it worked like a charm once I got it primed... ;-)

RE: WOW!! New DL 111cc and 55cc !
Hi all
I have just been getting a 1/3 clipped cub with a 111 ready for certification.
it appears that I got a 'friday afternoon' carburettor with this engine, after some pissing about I opted for a new carb(great service scott Dl australia) it burst straight into life with great transition, top and bottom ends, now that it has run for an hour or so, the low end is lean, I have tweaked the low needle a tad and this has now improved things, although when 'chopping' the throttle it does take a little time to achieve low idle (it sits at 2k ish for a few seconds before dropping down ) I filter my fuel into and out of the tank, and the needles were originally bang on the factory settings, and the butterfly is operating correctly.
What does the above symptoms indicate that I should do with the needles ?
is there a better bolt on alternative out there to this carburettor ?
This messing about is a shame, as i have never touched the carb or needles on my Dl 50, and it just goes and goes and goes.

Sounds like your low end is still tgoo lean. A bolt on carb is the Walbro SDC-80.

Guys, I don't leave till Wednesday, I'm in mop up mode now. Everything that was here by Saturday will get out before I leave. Couple of long nights but I'll make it. I'm not going to take any engines to work on while I'm gone but I'm taking some tools in case I come across one.

PS I put the DLE-111 on my HARGAR9 su-26 mm 85cc plane it is only 22lb. with the DLE-111 it is AWESOME and a half and then some and it's onle has about 30min. on it. It was 20lb. with a G62 os I add 2lb.but my thust went from 28lb.with the G62 to over 45lb. on a new DLE-111 and it will only get more impressive.
