I also thought the price would be About $250-$260 USA dollars. That is a lot of money for a any 30cc engine made in China. Hey for the same price you can buy a 26cc Zenoah that runs very good and you darn well know it will be running for may years if taken care of. Why is it anytime a new product that seems to be extra special...the stupid price is jacked up so high? Capt,n[:@]

Something has been gnawing at me with this engine and many of the other DLE engines... and it's only just come to the forefront for me... I see the utilitarian beauty to this engine but beyond that, it's one ugly SOB. I know this is something like saying "I like Shakespeare's Hamlet but I think the spelling is atrocious". I know I'm evaluating this engine on something extremely superficial... but still... as engines go, this one is not aesthetically pleasing - at least to me.

A few notes...
The looks alone won't stop me from buying one.
I'm not against Chinese engines. In fact I prefer them.
I own over 300 engines for various different reasons. Many just because they look good. I own many because they make my planes go.

Yep. I don't care what it looks like. It sits inside an engine cowling. As long as it runs great and is reliable don't care about having hidden art work.

G-26 is $20 more, 1.3lbs heavier, and only spins a 16" prop at 8900. To me there is no benefit of getting a G-26, unless you are flying a warbird. DL engines have been proven to last if taken care of as well. Now there is finally an engine that will work very well in 72" planes.

Got mine today! All I can say it is a good looking engine, but then I think the M1 Garand is a beautiful peice of work too (along with M-14, M-1 Carbine....). I was impressed with the throttle arm, the choke arm included with then ignition, and the workmanship on the muffler. I picked up a 10mm bolt and nut to hold the prop hub plate on the prop to use as a drill guide. Got my prop and spinner drilled and will be mounting the engine on my Aeroworks 25% Edge 540 tomorrow (hopefully). I have some 50mm standoffs from an earlier engine that I'll use, as I really don't want to build out my firewall that far. I wish I had some standoffs the right length that were the same quality as the DLE standoffs. They are substantial. Anyway, I'll try to post a pic or two tomorrow.

Anybody have one in the air yet? I cant wait to hear how they do in a plane in the air. Will this engine really fly a 1.20 size 3D plane like we want it to? I'm looking for a good extra 260 for one of these if they live up to the hype.

Here's some progress. Got my repairs done and the engine almost mounted. Should have it in the air this week. Plane looks like it's made for it!

To answer a question sent to me in a PM; The carb on the DLE 30 can be rotated 180 degrees if it helps with throttle linkage. The black insulator however cannot. I did this on one I was running today and noticed that the mixture needles had to be retuned after turning the carb around. Nothing major but deffinately needed different settings from the original position. The engine runs very well with impressive power turning an 18x10 Xoar at a little over 7500 RPM.

Jody how does it compare for power compared to the CRRC40? I am wondering how it would work on the 35cc Aeroworks planes.

I'm going to run it today with a 20x8 Xoar and I'll let you know. My guess is it will spank it! It turned a Xoar 18x10 at over 7500 right out of the box.

Hi All,

Does anyone have a mounting template for the DL30?

Thanks.

I would think that this would be a good engine for my Ultra Sport 1000.

The big advantage a G26 Zenoah has is this...It is used in so many airplanes, boats, helicopters and even dirt buggies. You can find parts and find all sorts of RC equipment to use them in. There is a "Lite" version made by Rcign (Ralph) also. The new cc DLE 30cc should have more power. It better have...I am getting one! Capt,n P.S. I just last eve I seen a Heli fly with a G26...it ran flawless!

I have a NIB Hangar 9 ShowTime 4D 90 ARF, do you think the DL would be too much motor for the plane?
