I'm installing an Optic Kill switch but encountering a problem;
- Radio being used; Futaba 7C 2.4ghz
- using channel 5 to plug in Opti Kill switch (this channel used to be used for Flaperons)
- After instlling opti on the Ignition battery, the LED on the Opti switch comes on (indicating it's armed) Only when I apply Up elevator
- It comes on with up elevator even if Manual Ignition Kill switch is Off.
I'm obviously doing something wrong here as I know the LED is supposed to be on all the time indicating it's armed.
Is there something I must do with TX ie; channel 5 , it's the same effect either inhibited or with full ATV.
thanks in advance

DJ, I don't know your radio at all but the best way is to plug your kill switch into a gear channel or another non-mixed channel.
A flaperon channel is likely to be not only proportional but also dependent on other channels.
I have a JR setup and I plug my kill switches into the gear port on the receiver

Hi Apalson,
Channel #5 on my Rx is the gear channel.
I used to use it for second elevator servo (elevon)
Will inhibiting this channel change this or is a P Mix needed?

That's correct, you must remove that channel from any mix you previously had it programmed into. Then in the Aux. channel menu program channel 5 to whatever switch you want to use for your engine shut off. If the it's armed in the wrong switch position, reverse it in the channel reversing menu.
