For me the choice would be between the DLE and the Evo. The price difference would be the determining factor for most.
On a personal level the RCGF is in a "wait and see" mode. They started off needing a little help in other size classes, then improved. It didn't take long for their quality to fall back to the original less than average levels, but now the quality is up again. So I'll wait and see if they maintain their quality levels for a year or so before I'd buy another one. I can buy a yo-yo at any toy store...

If your buying new I would think 28cc vs 26cc , the JC 28 is lighter and stronger than the RCGF 26cc. I believe the DLE, Evo, and JC all come with genuine RCEXL ignitions, the RCGF went with something else.

Andy,
Thanks for the info. That's good news. My choice is down to those two.

I would go with the Evolution 26GX.
I have two of them and they run GREAT!
also the GX ignition module has 2 power curves programmed in to it. a regular one and one for a tuned pipe. you use a little jumper to switch between the to ignition modes.
The GX ignition will also run off a lipo battery without a regulator (2 cell i think)
the down side is that the Evolution is kind of expensive IMHO.

Thanks for the info. The 26GX is kind of pricey. $319 for DLE-30 and $449 EVO 26GX. Now I have to figure out if the $130 delta is worth it. $130 is not that much, but it sure adds up.

You stated 26cc engine...its a no brainer....Get a G26 Zenoah....not a better built 26cc engine, with good power. Capt,n

The higher cost of the Evo/MVVS is why I stated the price diff between it and the DLE would be a big player. There are factors that more than justify the price difference. The twin ignition curve is one of them, and the power difference when using any of the MVVS/Evo engines on a pipe is another. Then you have a big difference in top end designs, and MVVS is like having the sun inside a large cave where that is concerned. The MVVS line was designed around the use of a pipe for maximum performance, but even without one their performance levels are on the high side.
There definately is a lot of justification for the price differences, and many will not be able to make it balance. But those that do usually come up smiling after the trip to the sales counter is behind them.

Here is a linl to a good 26cc engine http://www.toni-clark.com/english/fr.../z26sc_frm.htm
Be sure to see how the 20cc engine performs also...good engines! Capt,n

Which one would I buy? I'd base it on level of expertise. If I knew what I was doing I'd prolly experiment a little. If not I'd prolly go with what the people I fly with use the most. Personally, I'm in the latter category.

The goofy side mounted carburetor is what eliminates the DLE-30 for me. I own several DL-50 and DLE-55 engines and have no complaints. They would have really had a winner if they had rear mounted the carb and turned the cylinder to exhaust toward the rear also.

Frank,
I forgot that Evo has its own ignition, the DLE has the RCexl , and the RCGF has a pooch. The only bad thing is if the Evo ignition goes its pricy. As long as you run the proper battery you should not have any problems.

You are not a fan of the DLE-30 or the EVO-26?

Really? I started out with four choices and have worked my way down to two. I don't have unlimited funds like some people so I need to make sure I pick the best engine for me the first time around.
