I'll throw my two cents in here. I think I will try to install my JBA 15G engine in a Hanger 9 Fokker DVII scale warbird. I will not know for sure until I try it but I think that could be a good combination. I had a Hanger 9 Corsair powered by a Zenoah G20EI for several years that flew very well until recently at our annual warbird show the wing snaped in half during its last flight.

Best wishes and good safe flying.

Sounds good Post some pictures

I had also considered a Hanger 9 Spitfire but that thing seems backordered into eternity

they are on the link I posted in Post #580 just up this page a bit
Yes, but that site requires us to 'log-in' and since you should already
know such specs, I'll leave it to you to post them.

Go to HH and download the manual for that model. Go to page 40, then the photo at step 19.

Stock muffler for this JBA-.15 probably will require chopping a chunk of the fuse out, in order to mount it.[sm=thumbs_down.gif]

The Aeroworks Edge 46/61 Edge beats out the 60/90 Extra for me at the end of the day

The guy at AW said most people are flying the 60/90 with the DLE 20 and the Edge looks like it will fly great with the  JBA 15

Sheldon, and others,

Whatchya think of this JBA .15cc gasser on an [link=http://www.ohiomodelplanes.com/47proyakarf/index.htm]OMP - 47" ProYak V3 ARF....[/link]

It's only 4.75#......think I might rip the wings off?[8D]

I'm currently running it with a Saito .82 4S, and an APC 15 x 4W prop.

Might recoup a bit by selling the Saito afterwards.

The x260 AW 40-60 is good for this and most from what I was also told use the 60-90 with the dle 20. Been considering the 40-60 and another JBA 15. I like twists the most and may just do a 60 twist. Wish they still made the twist 150. That would sell like crazy right now where I am with the 26-30 CC motors.

I have a twist 150 with an MDL28. I was able to get one from a friend with only 4 flights on it. I put the 20 dle on it. It has more pulling power out of a hover with the 20. I was able to shed some weight.

I received my engine yesterday. WOW! that was fast service from Valley View. This is a busy time of year so it may be awhile before I get a chance to get things together to start the break-in process. However, I am looking forward to playing with my new engine.

Happy Holidays, best wishes and good safe flying.

The Hanger 9 Fokker DVII arrived yesterday but it will be until after Christmas before I will be able to work on it. The engine compartment seems to have plenty of room but one may have to purchase a pitts muffler from J-Tech to work in this plane. Time will tell.

Happy Holidays, best wishes and good safe flying.

Come to think of it, I don't remember anyone posting any photos (yet) of a Pitts style muffler and how it might/might not clear the engine mount side rails.

I don't go for the Wal-Mart corporate "Happy Holidays" phrase. When I'm in their store and an employee says that, I pop off "Merry Christmas" loud & clear!
Some just smile, a few say they agree but can't say it.[&o]

The website says that the jba15cc has 3.2 hp, that seems to be awfully high. Is it that much better than the 20 and most 30cc engines. Or typiclal chinese hype? thanks two friends are currently breaking them in , and they seem good but I guess my question is, Are the numbers inflated? thanks

Inflated Hype

What is more important is how they perform with what size prop.

Do'nt know about the HP but this engine pulls a 14-8 prop on a GP big stick stright up and has plenty left. I am still breaking in the engine so can not give a good overall performance as I am still having some tuning problems.

Here is my JBA 15G engine in its test stand ready to run. I plan to run Klotz oil at about 6 oz to the gallon which will be approx. a 22:1 mix. Klotz is 80% synthetic and 20% castor oil.

Hey Fooped, what size Stick are we talking ??

My JBA showed up today, nice looking little engine. I was just getting used to how small a CM6 is and now I have this little thing they call a spark plug?? Its so cute, looks like it belongs on a key chain or something!

Andy,
Are you going to break that engine in soon in this cold Michigan air or wait untill spring? If you run it you could put a sock around the jug to warm it up some! Take Care Capt,n

Its a 60 GP big stick. I made it a tail drager and put the rudder and elevator servos on each side just in frount of the rudder. I added two oz to the tail and plan on another oz I think will make even fly better. It is a great flying plane . I have my Dads ( built in 1976 60 ugly stick with a black head 60 Webra ) still fly it every once in a while for fun. Just had to have for fun flys and its great.

Brockettman, This is exactly the kit that I am building just now. I am very excited to see you with this engine in there. Do you have any additional information for us? I read the whole thread and know about your move. Unfortunately I know all about the cold weather too. Please let us know if you have any comments on how this runs in the Top Flite P-51 .60 For example it looks like it will light your cowl on fire on the muffler side. Installation is just perfect looking though, good job.

Hi Gene,

Could you tell us if your JBA 15 is the nitro engine or the 15G gas engine? Also would you mind sharing what brand P40 kit or ARF did you use and which J-Tech in cowl muffler did you use? Thanks in advance for your kind consideration.
