Flew my first DLE 20 this weekend. Runs perfectly. It might need some minute tweaking, but surprisingly I did not touch the needles. Very powerful. I have it on a 65" Pica FW190 D. Perfect combo I think. It seemed to run out of steam a little going vertical. I may need to try a different prop or it needs to break in. I am very happy and this will not be my last DLE 20. Prop is a Xoar 16-8

Wondering how the DLE 20cc would do in a CMP Focke Wulf 190 calls for a 90 to 108 2 stroke. With a 70in wing span. Don't know the weight but it seems like a pretty light layup. I believe it will fit in the cowl,at least I hope it would.

I am pretty sure it is not much more than 7 lbs, but I will verify when I get home. One thing is for sure, it is really fast. I got lots of good comments at the field. That little plane is a real beast now. Pretty excited about it.

I'm glad to hear about your plane; sounds great, compliments at the field are always a good affirmation! Would love to see a few pictures!

Well, since I threw it out there, surprisingly the beast weighs 10 lbs 13 oz. Almost 11lbs! Maybe that is why the vertical slowed a little. Still, the plane flies great, good slow stall, and is fast as heck. That might seem like a heavy number, but it flies just fine and I am at 5,000' altitude as well. I will get some pics up shortly.

I had a JBA 15 cc, and had a ton of trouble with it. I think I was running 14" props on it. I am going to blame myself though, as it may have been set up. Tank or a pressure line pinched off or something. The design was not oriented for these types of engines. Stock, they have you build it for an upright install. I took the bandsaw to the nose and scratch built the whole front end, adding a 1/2" firewall. I wanted it stout up there as I had heard about the power of the DLE 20. Now with the engine inverted and a new cowl from Fibeglass specialties it looks much better and if it were not for the plug cap and wire, you could not hardly see the engine.

Thanks.
Here are some pics. This aircraft was started around 15 years ago. I got it fully framed up and then stopped building it. It survived a bunch of moves, and with the recent popularity of the warbird events in my area, I decided to finish it last year. It is time to add more details, now that I have it functioning well. The DLE was a perfect match for it and after doing some research, I do not think 11 lbs is bad at all. Some warbirds in this size are finishing out at 15-16lbs. I have Robart retracts and functioning struts.

Finally got around to flying my H9 Corsair today with the DLE 20 and all I have to say is what a blast! It flew perfectly and has a ton of power and great performance. I am running a 16x8 3-blade Master Airscew prop and it is sweet. Can't wait to get out there and do more flying with it.

The 4.6kg weight on the CMP website seems to indicate about a 10lb model...that may be ok for sport flying, but not much more. I do know that many people are flying a 70'' Revolver with a DLE-20 and reporting great performance from that combination.

Without combing thru this whole thread, where can I obtain 2 or 3 carbon fiber motor mounts for my DLE 20s?? I could not even find them on the VV web site. I called Horizon as the mount out of the Pulse 125 fits perfect, but they are out till the end of AUG. HELP!!! Thanks Brian
