Hey guys, where is the easiest place to find another screen for the carb? I dropped mine in the garage and of course it is nowhere to be found.[:@]

Has anyone taken any decibel readings with the different muffler options?
We have a 90db at 3 meters AMA requirement that can be tough to meet...

I bought one of the silencers from T.B.M. to put in my G-26 that has the single down tube that is in a Sopwith Pup. That little thing was so loud even the 3-D guys complained LOL With the silencer installed it cut the noise almost in half so you won't be dissapointed and it only lost about 100rpm's which I did not even notice.

Doug, is this the small TBM silencer that fits into the bottom of the stinger? We are starting to have a big problem with noise so if these work as you say that may solve our problem.

I built a exhaust thottle plate and installed it in the DLE30cc exhaust stack. Couple the device with the carb linkage and it really worked good. Idle was smoother and noise was super quite. I have a photo of it in my computer at home in Mich. I am on vacation in Florida right now. Capt,n

I once read that a little stainless steel scouring pad in the stack will quiet the engine some. Don't know about the power loss.

Quieting the stock muffler on the DLE 20 and 30 engines.
This is what I did and you will not beleive how good it works.
Go to a Hardware store, or Lowe's and buy a Lint trap that is used on washing machines.
They are made of stainless steel mesh.
Do not unroll. Cut off the end, then cut off another piece about 1" wide. Take the rolled up
piece and stuff it into the exhaust stack so it is flush with the end. Now take the 1" piece cut into two pieces,
take one of the pieces and put itover the end of the exhaust stack. Use a hose clamp to hold it in place.
This will keep the rolled piece from coming out of the exhaust stack.
I have used this on both a 20 & 30 CC engine.
I have not notice any loss in power.
The next thing is to try and use less of the rolled up piece by cutting off 1/4" at a time until it becomes too loud again.
The traps I bought from the hardware only cost $2.00

That works, but dont use steel wool, it can get sucked back into the motor and mess it up bad.
For the pad, you will want to clean it out occasionally since the waste oil will stick to it and gum it up. It is a good way to quiet the motor down though.

I haven't done it with these engines, but I did repair a holed muffler on a chainsaw once this way and I found no difference in performance, but I was able to hear after I was done.

What's the maximum weight you'd feel comfortable to 3d with this engine paired with a JTec Pitts muffler?

6.5-7.5 lbs and it's a missile!
Based on a Vess -or- Xoar 17 x 6 prop.

Hi folks.
I have a quick question.
I did have a quick trawl on this thread but then i saw how many pages there are!!
Could someone tell me what size prop i should use for breaking in my DLE 20. And also, for how long should i keep using the break-in prop before changing up for better performance.
I was told to go stright toa 17x6 but i vaguely recall reading somewhere that i should use a 16x5
Opinions would be appreciated
Jamie
