Default Ryobi 31cc ?

I have a Ryobi 31cc engine mounted on my GP Giant Stik. When I advance the throttle forward the engine will hesitate and then throttle up but only at about 50% power with throttle full open. I have a pitts style muffler mounted on the engine, when muffler is left off I have no problem with the throttle going to full power. No hesitation and l00% full power with no muffler.

Can anyone out there help me solve this problem?

Adjust the low end needle. They should be marked H and L.

What pitts muffler do you have? In the description sounds like the muffler's problem.

Some of the Ryobi's have a REV limiter in the ignition and it is set close to 7000 rpm so it is best to run a 18 -8 prop on them

I have a couple of these and one has the REV limiter. The ignition gets rough above 7000

I took off the engine back plate, made a new gasket and bolted the engine back to my mount. Took the plastic limiter caps off the need valves, adjusted the low end needle valve. It now runs great.
