KMP Edge 540
Just bought an Edge 540 off E-bay, ( 295 + S/h)
It looks pretty good , on the Inside the wood says KMP Preformance,
didn't find a manual in the boxes (2)
any comments? type of servos?
I fly with a Futaba 8u Gear
Thanks

Hi Dan,
If you don't get enough action going with other KMP Edge owners, check out these two threads about the KMP YAK. It's the same size, designed by the same person, and will use pretty much all the same hardware and engine, etc:

RE: KMP Edge 540
The real bonus was that the Shipper messed up and actually delivered to my Alaska Address in stead of a Seattle freight forwarder that I use , Oh $45 shipping,
For half price on the plane I think that I can afford digital servos now.
keep the reply coming
I'll try to get pictures next

I have a KMP Edge that I am putting together right now. It will have a DA 50 with Hitec 5645's on all surfaces except rudder which will have a Hitec 5745. The construction of mine looks real good. They also included some suprisingly good hardware including Nelson ball linkages! Only thing I am waiting on is the engine to arrive (this week) and a few other items and I'll be in the air. Woo hoo!

Your engine will work with this airplane but it is on the large end of engines for this airplane. you will need to cut the engine box to get the engine back far enough. Make sure to cut it the same amount all the way around so you will not loose the right thrust built into the engine box.

Thanks Tom. I did that a while ago and it will let me beef the fire wall up while I am re-building it. Just seemed kinda crazy to have a motor box pre set.

RE: KMP Edge 540
The fire wall was no big deal. I mounted my engine like always for cg and distrobution reason. The cowl is preset too. It is way off low. I did all the motor box re-work in my wood shop at 1/100 of an inch. Now what to do to the cowl so it will be center with the motor shaft. It is around 1 1/2 down. I say in the end I will have to add spacer, re-do the blined nut placement ( will not work), have a gap which I hate or fly it with out one. The wing tube is way to tight and had to sand. what next[:@]
