Just had a thought. Is the elevator stab tube also short b/c of the foam ribs and will this cause a problem like the wings? Has anyone else thought of this or measured it? Any word on the temp fix for easy flying, we have a fun fly on Jan 1st.

Keivn

Hi Kevin
I will advice about it later on after checking it again and I will let you know if to skip the foam ribs or not

About the wings I concentrated full time on the new wings so I didn’t have the chance to try the supports on the existing wings but I will try to do it ASAP .

I will update you about that

Hope to have it done next week depending on the Holiday schedule which really cuts into building and flying time!

How's it going? I have the pa 35%extra and also am installing the chip hyde quiet pipes with the da100. So far it has been a piece of cake. I removed the fuel tank platform and built a nice box around where I am going to install the pipes. The fuel tank will sit on top of the new platform. I will take a few pictures and maybe give you some ideas on how to do it. Hope this helps.

I used rustoleum american accents stone creations on the tunnel for the cans. It does a real nice job and it goes on easy. I then sprayed it with clear coat for durability.

Thanks for the pictures, a big help! Hope by Friday the cans will be in. Looks like I will need to take about a inch off the headers to get a good fit. Did you have to cut the headers? Also I will need extend the cans exhaust pipes, I will show you pictures.
Thanks GBaggerly

Looks great hope mine comes out that good.[sm=thumbup.gif] Do you have any room for longer cansisters, I can't tell by the pictures.
One other question how long are your headers going to be?
Thanks

I saw, but after all those excuses about his wife not letting him open the box I'll still beat him into the air with my 35%!

The way that we built the tunnel for the cans there is no more room for longer cans. The wing tube is there so that is pretty much it. The header will be about 7inches long from about the 90 degree bend. I hope this helps you out.

Thanks Dave,
It helps a lot, by the way I found the rustoleum american accents stone creations at Home depot $8.00 and some change they have different colors if you like.
Thanks

gbaggerly,
I was just down in the basement and looking at the headers for my plane I can tell you we will have to cut at least 2 inches off our headers. I wont know the exact measurement for sure until we mount them. We are going to soft mount the cans first and then I will have a measurement for you. I wont be doing this for a couple of weeks, to busy at work. I will let you know then. You are using the chip hyde pipes and flex headers right? Talk to you soon.

Finished the install of cans and headers today pictures enclosed. Had to cut 1/2" and 3/4" from the Chip Hyde headers to get them to fit. In the exhaust tunnel lined with car muffler material. Cans and headers do not touch the sides of the tunnels. I put in two servos for the engine, choke and throttle. Had to extend cannister exhaust pipe by using 5/8" brass tubing with hose clamps. Also cans are held in place with hose clamps that are held in place with screws. Hopefully this all will work

gbaggerly, thanks for the info. I was wondering if you are going to make any gear blocks for your plane? Nothing came with the kit so my buddy fabricated some for the gap at the top of the landing gear and also for the bottom. There was a huge gap at the top that I didn't like. Enclosed are some pictures. Let me know what you think.

I like the looks of the fillers. Is there enough room on the side for the landing gear to flex?

Shawn

Can you give us a time frame on when you feel a temporary fix to the wings will be available, 1-2mo? As far as the permanent fix, replacement wings what time frame, 6-8 mo?
