RE: Precision Aerobatics 35% Extra 330L Build and review
I've attached a couple of pics of Jasons Extra on the day of the test flight. She certainly is a purdy looking model... wouldn't mind one myself. I'll wait to get a hold of the sticks of Jason's Extra before I make my mind up. I'm a DA Fan myself so would probably prefer the DA 100 but the ZDZ 80 did seem to have bags of power... (although Jason is still yet to remove the training wheels and really wring her out)
I'm not going to explain why Jason is dragging his model out of a ditch in the second photo, I'll let him make that confession himself!!
Also, I have been working on a repaint for the Extra in AeroFly Pro Deluxe in the PA colour scheme. If anyone wants a copy PM me and I can email it.
Cheers,
Patrick

Thats not a ditch thats our runway!!!! Na really its a bit of old river bed that runs across the end of our strip, and like I said before, she floats forever!! Caught me out on the first landing, beware of that old habit of cutting your throttle on landing till you get used to it!!

Guys
Flew the PA300 yeaterday. DA100 on BMB canisters, Emcotec mini 5 and Hitec servos. Can you say ballistic!!!! That DA on BMB cans is awesome and I was comfortable enough with the model and engine to start a rolling circle on take off.....nice!
It needs setting up and I will get to that this weekend. It needs to be ready for an IMAC comp in 4 weeks. I will be using the PA330 in Unlimited.
I'll send Shaun a video of some IMAC stuff (there is enough 3D vids of this plane) so you can look at it there. I will also send him a review of the model
Cheers

Guys
Finally got the PA330 dialed to the point where I want it for IMAC flying.
I have moved the batts forward and put in nose weight. It still needs more, but I'll fly it as is for now.
As for the exit hole for the cooling......put in as much exit hole as possible
I'll send the review to Shaun in a day or 2 and a vid to follow

Mine's almost ready... I don't have a lot of time to build though... Mine is DA100, Mej 3x25x12, MTW cans, Hitec servo's, JR wire and switches, Futaba receiver. Built pretty much stock. Using the PA servo tray for the rudder servo, and moved it forward one bulkhead to improve balance; carbon tube for the stabilizer spar. Went with carbon mains and tail wheel, carbon spinner from Pete. I'm not a real 3D kind of guy, so we will see how this does for me in IMAC style flying, and Sunday boring holes that sometimes resemble maneuvers. I had a bit of a delay finding the right pilot figure, but he's in paint right now, and then mounted, and then seal the canopy, and then go fly! I'm interested to see what it will do, but it feels heavy on the bench, especially the wing halves, at least compared to by TBM 260 that i'm flying now. but, i will withhold judgment until I get a couple of flights on it.

The PA Extra 330 is a bigger plane than the 260.
I am sure it will feel very light in flight.

Wow great job!
What is the silver? Sticker?
Take a few photos after the installation as well
should match nicely with the color scheme

Yes,
the silver is tape used for joining silver insulation together. I then stripped it for the pin striping. The whole thing was then coated with clear. I will mount it and post some more pics.......

Was it easy to apply this tape on the helmet?

Very nice and stable torque rolls.
By the way what engine are you running?
There's a lot of confusing background noises.

Only problem with this plane is replacement parts. I smashed my fuse last spring and can't find a replacement.
