Will it be better to run stock mufflers on the DA 50 than a tune pipe? I really dont know to much about tune pipes.
I'm selling my Composite Arf yak 54 with the DA100 for one of these planes,
My yak didnt have the throws for good 3d it was good for imac that was it.

Well I love my Da on the KS1060 tuned pipe. I mostly like how its quite it is. Im getting about 7200 on a mejzlik 22x8 and its still on the rich side. You'll probably get more rpms with the stock exhaust. Also with the tuned pipe/canisters,you dont have to cut any of the cowl. But if you dont care about noise or cutting the cowl go for the stock mufflers.

Either way you go youll love it!!!

K2 get the pipe if it's in your budget if only for the noise factor. Another excelent pipe/can choice would be the 3w-M55 can. http://www.aircraftinternational.com/ It is 2" diameter and will fit in the tunnel and not rub the gear support.

AI doesn't carry DA exhaust stuff so go here for a header. http://www.troybuiltmodels.com/Mufflers.htm

Feel free to ask how to mount the pipe/can here, plenty of helping souls.

How much weight does it add?

Thanks for your help.

I'd guess about 6 oz over a stock muffler. There are CF exhaust systems that are lighter than stock also.

I suggest if you want to get more indepth info about cans/mufflers, post in the gas engine forum.

When I had a canister and header I weighed them against a slimline pitts wrap around and they were the same weight... The tuned pipe is much longer then the canister so it probably weighs maybe a smidge more..
Believe us the can or tuned pipe isnt goin to add enough weight for you to worry about with this Yak. If your budget allows it go for it. I actually got my Tuned pipe used off RCU for $75.

Thanks again for your help.

Man, have you guys seen the new 50cc Extra 300,its bad
Now i dont know what to buy, the yak or the extra.

Does anybody know what the all up weight will be on the extra?
I love the red white and blue one.

This is going to be a tough one..

Ive owned 3 extras one Patty Wagstaff 300, Areoworks 260 and a composite Arf 260.
The extra is a really good flying plane but so is the yak.

I'll leave it up to you guys..

damn you extreme flight, i always thought the 80cc size stuff performed better then the 50-600 planes, until i got this yak, so now i have a zdz80 that needs a home, was about to order the sd33%yak or the soon to be out hangar9 sukoi(which looks sweet and is kinda quick build with some stuff done), but now i see the 88 extra, that blue/yellow version is f&$#king gorgeous!!!!, now i may give up on my 80 and sell it, then stay with this size plane and get the extra, if you are going to come out with an edge in this size let me know now, that way i can start working on an alias and begin to rob some banks, cause i will need all three for sure!!![sm=lol.gif]

yeh i want the 58" extra e also now after browsing the site[:@], i dont have anything to sell, the 88yak and the 45"extra are the only ones i have now and cant part with either one, just that zdz80 motor, which has been awesome and i do love it, but the 88extra with a b60 sounds better at the moment, and the 58"extra looks just as appealing, cant part with the 45 though, may just get more brave and perhaps crazy with it[sm=wink_smile.gif]

thats funny, i was really close to ordering a heli also, thought it would be neat to mess around the yard with one, but now that $200 is staying in bank until i can get one of these other planes planes, looks like my hangar is going to be all extreme flight stuff.....id say thats a good thing too!!!

Hi Guys,

I am also enjoying the EF 88" yak, a superb performer. As it was a very light kit, I made an electric conversion.
