Default DA170 Plane - Dietrich and Radiowave

This is a two part thread. The first part is to help me decide on a 40% plane to put a DA170 in. The engine is supposed to be available to ship to me by the end of July so I have plenty of time to decide on a plane. Two of my favorites are the Radiowave Extra 300 and the Dietrich Slick 540. The Slick isn't due to ship until October and the Radiowave plane is out of stock until the end of summer some time. I will mostly be flying 3D but I like a plane that will fly good lines also. Currently I fly a QQ Python w/DA85, ExtremeFlight 58" Extra 300E and 3DHobbyShop 47" Velox. Anyway, some adise from 40% owners would be appreciated.

The second part of my thread is to introduce my new business. I've started an online hobby store called Unlimited RC Models selling what I think are the premium lines of gas and electric airplanes, engines, and accessories. Some of my brands include ExtremeFlight, 3DHobbyShop, Quique's Aircraft, Aero-Works, Jtec Radiowave, Dietrich, Desert Aircraft and Brillelli Engines. Accessories include Smart-Fly, Fromeco, Thunder Power, SWB servo arms and many more. I wil also be traveling to the big events in the St. Louis area this year demo flying and selling accessories. Please check it out.

Thanks,
Chris

Dang, it's going to be a hard decision. I'm thinking I will try the two 8711's in the rear for the rudder instead of pull-pull. What do you guys think about that setup. I've only done pull-pull in the past. I like the idea of no stretching cables. Probably go with two 8711's on elevators also. As far as the planes, they are both sharp and I'm sure the quality is outstanding for both. I'll also do an EQ6 Turbo from Smart-Fly and Fromeco 5200's on receiver. September or October is a loooooong ways away. Dogonit!!

i am running 2-8711 on my 46% Ultimate and 2-8711 on my 40% Radiocraft EXtra both are on push pull. No issues and power for days. I think i read were a flyer is doing k-e loops with 2-5955 on the rudder.

That's definately the ticket. What do you think about the plane selection and which one do you think would be a better 3D plane. Oh, did you check out the website?

both of your choices are strong birds radiowave will quickly tell ya that the master of some big event like that has about 3-5 of thier birds being flown that is a statement in itself. I find that once you know and like both birds pick the one whos scheme works best for your needs.....[8D]

Honestly.....Dietrich makes some good airplanes , BUT , i WOULD NOT count on that slick 540 being out in October. Dietrich has a tendency to announce an aircraft about 6 months to early. Perfect exampl , the new 75cc 260 was anounced like in june of last year , and was supposed to be here in i think january or febuary of 2008. It was just released a couple weeks ago. It is one awesome looking airplane , but i wouldn't count on it until next summer.

You know....another good outfit ( besides Jtec ) is wildhare. They have a nice big extra 300 as well. All pocket hinging as Too......that's worth it's weight in gold for me....NO HINGING! And Tom is a top notch guy to deal with too.

Where is the RCU build thread on the Radiowave? I've seen one on the "other" site but not RCU. Maybe I should do one with the DA170. Of course it's not gonna be until September before the plane is available. A lot can happen between now and September. DOGONIT!
