Default NEED HELP..WING TUBES...

OK I'm looking for a thread and I've searched for it...I need a step by step picture guide on how to install wing tubes..I've never used them and I dont have a clue on how too...also where to buy them...I just started building a Ziroli Stuka after waiting for a couple of years to get on it...I know I saw a thread with the wing tubes but i can't find it anymore...

Ziroli Stukas dont require wing tubes, they are a one piece wing with a 3/4 length spar.

This I know...I'm wanting to install them for ease of transportation...instead of hauling around a 100" wing I can make it about 2 40" wing halves...with the center piece attached to the fuse...

I use T&T Landing gear as a good source of tubes and socket material.

Try this thread at RCScaleBuilder, Page 7. Will give you a good idea about making the stuka wing a three piece with wing tubes.

They are not nearly as strong as wing tubes. You only have the strength of a few bolts and the shear strength of a glue joint for all of your spar carry though strength. I have never seen one fail but I never really trusted them. The retaining bolt tends to strip out also.

I have a big SIG Spacewalker project scheduled for next winter and I'm changing out the SIG system to wing tubes. I even find the tubes much easier to install.

Byron used the same system as SIG's for years. I did see a couple of these fail with catastrophic results.
