The biggest problem in physically doing it for me is the Asthma, COPD, and blown disk in the back really limit the working time. It's ten minutes of work and thirty minutes of rest. But it will get done today and I can get back on the Bulldog tomorrow
Well the fact that you push through it is the important thing Ace... COPD, can be very debilitating, but you can't give in to it, pace yourself... get one of those back teeters and hang from your feet... my sister has one and she swears by it, says her back has never felt better... she's actually gain a half inch in her height using it.

Yeah Art, but your current build is twice the size of a family car. Gotta count for something.

Come to think of it, I might not even be one of the guys your were referring to............I have been following your builds but don't chime in much. But it sounded like you were talking right to me!

Robert, you are indeed a prolific builder and I have enjoyed tagging along. I am rather slow and have been on my current build for almost two years now.......but I will get there. It will be interesting to see what comes next.

Cheers,
Art
Sounds like an Andy Sheber scratch build is next, which would make my second one. I think you were around on that one?

Yes, I think I got in on the front end of that thread. There was another Pitts thread about that time, maybe a little earlier and it sort of went flat........but you sure have kept the Pitts fires burning bright.

........wait a minute.........ARE YOU SERIOUS ?

Work is progressing slowly today because of my seriously sore body. Here is the T/E of the top wing center section.

Nice work Rob. Those magnets look pretty strong to hold the bend in the wood. Hope you feel better.

That just one of the things that I like about them. And I feel great, just sore and slow moving. But who's in a hurry, right.

I know what you mean. A friend and I replaced the brakes on my car the other day. It took all of the following day to recover. Same thing, just sore. Feel better today.

Pain is just mother nature's way of telling you that you're still alive. Sometimes you can feel way too much alive!

And would you be going for scale details? Or light and aerobatic without much detail? I've always been a fan of that scheme.

I have to disagree, pain is the bodies way of telling you to stop being stupid and/or act your age/health.

That would be relatively easy to paint or iron on.

I am back at the house so no worky, leaving is the only way to make myself stop and heal. And no, I don't have anything at the house to do but rest. And when I return to the shop I am going to focus on finishing my canopy and final assembly for flight. I have no idea how long it will take but it should not be more than two or three days.

Well! After a little research on you my friend I have to ask, "Why in the world would you want or need someone to build you an airplane"?
Also, if your looking for a "Fun Fly" airplane you might want to considered one of the RCGuys Pitts?
Sorry, but after seeing what you are capable of I don't understand the want for someone else to build one. I mean, a half scale, scratch built, Nieuport 11, WOW!!

That's kind of what my wife said, too. Actually, I really didn't think that you would do a scratch build and kind of threw the suggestion out there not really thinking that you would ......... I guess I underestimated your commitment for building. You're right, I really don't need anyone to build for me........and after thinking about it I realize that part of your zeal for building for someone else must be based partly on providing a really nicely built model for someone who is somewhat limited in skill or shop space........a once in a lifetime kind of plane, like what you are doing for Jeff. It makes me feel a bit selfish.

So Robert, if you don't mind, I would like to return the build slot that you kindly offered to me. I think that you can find a more deserving recipient than me.......but I will continue to look in with interest to your next project. I wonder who will be next and which plane will be chosen.........

Cheers,
Art

p.s. Why would I want someone to do a build for me? Time. I don't have enough time to build all the planes I would like to fly.

And why a "fun scale" type of plane? This is a little bit tougher for me to answer ....... because I was too embarrassed to ask for a full blown scale build when I won't take the time to do it for myself.

That's it in a nut shell........
