Didn't, been long enough with that model that the pump was dried out and I did not have my starter to spin it fast enough to function. But everything is ready for the morning.

Hey Rob, what radio and rx are you using on the Eagle? I'm having a heck of a time trying to find a 12ch DSMX rx for my JR radio. I'm not sure if I want to convert to JR DMSS or go with Futaba. Either way it means a new radio and rx. What do you think? Maybe some of you other guys can chime in for some suggestions. Thanks, Jeff

Ace, are you going to just let those wires drop down like that to the receiver, as well as the ones going forward, or do you use finger trap (braided wire casing) or that plasic spiral wire wrap to minimize the flexing under vibration... I know that tray slides in and out.... just curious how you feel about the wires moving freely about... I bind mine in finger trap and some small wire ties, and then velcro the bundle to back side of the bulkhead so the wires don't move around... I tie down the servo wires in the wings as well so the wires don't move... I had a wire break on an old futaba S-20 mini servo from constant moving around... you probably remember the older futaba proprietary 3 pin male servo connectors, broke right at the plastic plug body.
Futaba, that's all I've every flown, 14SG

The wing wires go through a tube but the rest I secure mostly to protect the joints, elsewise they hang near freely with a wire tie here and there. In nearly forty years I have never had a wire issue even with those dinosaur plugs we had to use back then. I do have one plane where things are a bit more secure but it is a profile and gets thrashed around like a fish out of water. Simply put, I do what my experience deems as needed nothing more and nothing less.
Of course Jeff is welcome to secure until his heart is content upon receipt of his aircraft if my work is not up to his liking. But I got a feeling it will be left as is.

dinosaur plugs ... I'm not too fond of the current "j" connectors either, but they haven't given me any problems... would like to see some sort of rubber strain relief on the plastic plug ends.... I tie the aileron extensions to a 1/8" dowel and push it down a rolled piece of thick paper that gets pushed through the wing rib holes and then tie off each end.and any excess so there's no movement of the wires... maybe a bit over kill, but I was surprise how much the wires danced around with the engine running... Its like with those GPS guided smart bomb's... they build those like they will last a lifetime; wire harnesses all nicely bundled and laced, everything all nicely laid out... all just to be obliterated!

Robert,
Nothing like a neat, orderly installation to ensure no 'unexpected' glitches!
I always laugh when someone brags about a 'fully scaled out' aircraft, including rivets that look like Rosie The Riveter installed them, but when you check out their equipment install it's nothing but a big rat's nest screaming for a redo!
What an enjoyable build thread

If its anything like the SG, I had some issues wrapping my head around some of the channel mixes... if reading the manual over and over doesn't sink in, you can try asking up in the futaba forums, or send for help from the techs over at futaba's site... they usually will walk you through the tough spots.
Must be an inside joke

John , Mike.
A few years ago, how many I forget.
Holiday Inn Express was running commercials with the premise that staying in an express makes you smart.
EXAMPLE.
Someone would diagnose an illness and then they would be asked " are you a Dr. ?"
(answered) " No, but I stayed in a Holiday in express last night "
The did a bunch. Insert " pilot, Doctor, Lawyer , or Futaba tech guru.
They were a lot like the " want a get away airline commercials.
The trouble with explaining humor is.
It ceases being humor.

no humor lost Kevin... interesting thing is, I've never seen any holiday inn commercials run out here in California... but I get it now; I must have lived my entire life in a holiday inn express then (smart ass as I am)
I was going to say to Ace, programming his radio is "sooo easy a cave man could do it"; referencing the older GEICO commercials, but unfortunately it ain't, because this old cave man couldn't figure it out!... maybe its just the manual translated to english that makes it difficult.
