Hi hello there,

I am new to this Forum.

I am planning to buy a 1/3 AERONCA CHAMP KIT same as the one above.
I have made SIG 1/4 Piper J3 Cub kit.

Problem is what is the differnce between Short kit and SIG complete Kit.

As in SIG kit i got all cut out parts and only thing i had to do was take out the cut pieces and put over plan and stick everything toigerther as per the manual.

For the 1/3 AERONCA CHAMP KIT short kit i dont understand what all things i need to buy seprately and what all things i will get in the kit?

Please can anyone help ??

Regards
Anant

Here are a few photos of my build from January of this year, took a few months off to do some work in the shop area, will hopefully get back on it soon. Powered by a 85 cc Roto four stroke.
I have photos of the build, if there's something you would like to see let me know.

I'm sure I'm a little late to reply to the question about the short kit, but my understanding is those are simply the ribs, formers, etc cut from sheet for a specific airplane. You supply the "stick" material once you figure out what you need from the plans. I haven't bought a short kit before, but I like the idea of them.

I'm an Aeronca Chief owner, so the Champ thread caught my eye. Love how the ribs are built up like the full size. Would be cool to find a third scale set of prints for a pre war Chief, but the Champ looks like a really nice build too, with potentially more resources. Built a third scale J3 Cub from scratch, but I don't have as much detail as your Champ. Very nice work.

I have the wings covered and painted with Stewards System, 7AC yellow. Fabric is screwed and taped. About 500 #0 screws in each wing.

Thanks for sharing the link. Almost complete with a scratch build 88 inch Smith Miniplane. Got a friend who owns an Aeronca Champ and wants me to fly with him. I'm sure that will be the driving factor to make me want to build a 1/3 scale now!
Looks awesome!

In case I missed it from an earlier post, would you mind sharing a link, etc for your 1/3 scale Champ kit?

I posted my email address above. and it is on this post also
Everyone just sends me an email and I will send you a list of kits I sell. The list is to large to send on RCU they do not support it.

That makes sense, too large of a file.
Anyhow, my address is [email protected]. It's our railroad business address, but it gets used for a lot of things lately.
Thank you.

Well, I will admit I'm addicted. Built several large and giant scale airplanes, rescued and restored a number of nice old veteran models that were otherwise destined to end their lives in an unfortunate manner. And now I want to build a 1/3 scale Aeronca Champ. This is normal right?😀

Nice thing about the Champ is there is not much detail too worry about unlike your current Cessna T-50 build.

..........Good point.......I could have made it simpler, but then I thought......just a little detail here, a little there and so on until I reach a point where if I did not add detail it looked bare......so I had to fill it in.
