All PPG products. Primer is NCP 270 with NCX 275 catalyst. Sealer is NCS 1990 with NCX 1995 catalyst.
All up weight is expected to be 60 to 63 pounds dry.
Hoping to make paint today!
I've been working on this project for 4 years...........

Final sanding. I use 400 grit dry with a paint stick as a backing tool. This eliminates any "grooving" that could occur if using only the fingers. Next step will be a sealer coat...then color and clear (PPG 2042).
Great day for painting, no humidity and 78 degrees!!

This is one of the most impressive builds I've seen on RCUniverse! You've done an awesome job and I can't wait to see this masterpiece painted. Hope I have an opportunnity to see your Cessna 421 in the air. Do you attend shows around the country? Any in Texas?

Thanks for all the kind words! Due to work, the shows I attend are usually limited to 300 miles one way. We are hoping to travel further next year. Maybe Joe Nall. We are definitley attending the IMAA Festival in Muncie in June.
First coats of color being applied.

I don't like the nose- it's not smooth, Ron maybe it's me but I think you should smooth out the nose before you put the finial coat. A build like this needs to be perfect. What do you think?

All systems now functional. Windows will be installed next, using lexan sheet. No vacuum forming, just a flush fit on the inner side of the sheeting. I installed a stiffer spring in the main gear struts...the model now sits as it should.

Ron I am sitting here looking at these pictures and I am absolutely blown away at the meticulous work you have done. I bet you when Wendell drew those plans he probably never envisioned such a stunning example of a twin turboprop version. What Fly-ins do you plan to take the plane to for 2011? I hope the Joe Nall is in the mix. You REALLY should think about shooting for Top Gun. That plane would place very high.
Could you please post video of both the initial run up and flight. Also I'd love to see some video of the retracts working.

First of the accent detail...done by Steve Baller . Steve is known world wide for his custom striping of Harley Davidsons. More to follow!
