Default Vess Props?

Hey guys,

Looking to order a Vess prop and not having much luck...

vessaero.com is a mess! That is the worst example of a business website I have seen in years.. everything is broken on it and the shopping cart system is horrible. Long story short I work on computers for a living and I dont trust ordering on that system

I know DA sells them but the fact that DA with all the engines they sell cant bother spending 1000 or 2000 on getting an online system drives me up the wall. I am too lazy to pick up the phone and everytime I go to they are closed anyhow.

Anywhere else online I can order these?

I agree on the vess website. I called DA yesterday at 11 am and ordered two props. I had a UPS ship notification by the end of the day.

I hear that the props are worth the extra trouble.

Richard

PS Maybe you could work a deal with Vess props to update their website.... bits for props

sinergy,

I'd have to agree with you. I had an email conversation with Robert Vess concerning the SSL issues and he assured me it was to be fixed soon and that was roughly 2 weeks ago, as you are probably aware, an SSL issue is almost always because the certificate has expired, is corrupted or there is some sort of weird packets hitting the wire at layer 1. Like you I'm in the IT business, specifically network security testing down at the packet level so I definitely understand where you are coming from.

As rdb127 said,

Calling DA and getting them that way is most definitely wort the extra hassle. I've replaced almost all my props with the Vess. The only plane that did not like it was my DA50 powered Cap. The engine did not care as I have that same engine in another plane, but the Cap certainly did not care for it.

I emailed Robert when I was trying to order a prop that I was having problems with the site. He said he was aware and working on. He took my order personally and I recieved the prop a few days later. Sometimes a phone call or an email solves a problem much quicker then going on interenet sites and complaining about the problem.

Well sorry that it is easier for me to order online...

I worked 7am - 8pm today how about you?

Not like DA is there 6am to 9pm so I can call and order something on the phone.. I didn't even have time to eat lunch let alone make a personal phone call. It's 20:51 here and I just came home to start making dinner... wishing I could order online and be done with it.

To everyone else.. thanks for the responses.

I completely sympathize with Sinergy..not all of us work 9-5 and have access to a phone for personal biz...I started training my wife on RC ordering....well except for the REAL expensive stuff!!

Hey guys,

I'm working with Vess to get their site up to speed, and now have their shopping system back in operation (Robert is a friend and fellow flyer). My company (Scootworks.com) is partnering with Vess Aero to manage their shipping and warehousing (they're just down the road from us here). In addition, we also have a new phone line going into our shipping department this coming week to take phone orders for Vess Aero. We have 18 employees with a shipping department that runs 2 shifts/5 days to support our own internet/phone sales, so our folks are familiar with this type of operation.

I've ripped out the Vess shopping cart and have merged his shopping system with our secure shopping system, and have it up and running. We're going to be working on the static pages of his site in the coming days to improve navigation and overall "feel", but the important thing is the shopping package, and that is now rebuilt and completely in our control (as opposed to the ISP, who seemed to be lost).

Vess' provider made some changes, and the provider's own techs couldn't figure out what the problems were. They have several customers with the same problems as the Vess site, but couldn't resolve the problems. Robert was banging his head against the wall for weeks with these guys, spending hours on the phone with them at the time...but no avail.

I've been managing 27,000+ SKUs and our own secure shoping system at scootworks.com since 1998, and feel his pain. Allowing a 3rd party to manage a shopping system can be painful, and we decided to take over our system in '98 for the same exact reasons. We now have multiple dedicated servers with mirrored raid drives, off-site redundancy, no live databases to hack into, etc.

Anyway, the look of Vess Aero wil be changing over the coming days, and it's now back in operation and secure to shop at.

BTW, you can link directly to the VessAero shopping system on our server at :

Upward and onward!
Dave
