Default 50% cub?

Does anyone know of a source for a 50% cub? Plans, kit or ARF.

This is for a research application at a university.

Thanks Elson

There was a guy (though the individual in the picture is hardly a "guy") with one at Toledo in 2006. You might be able to get in touch with him. I'm not sure if it was 50% or not, but it was HUGE! Here is a link.

A while back, someone was selling 50% J3 plans here on rcuniverse...cant remember who it was though....you may think about enlarging 1/3 scale plans....
Heres a big one to drool over:

Hi
I`m also on the hunt for 50% cub plans. From what i heard and read, most people building a 50% use enlarged balsa usa plans for the 1/4 j3. Couldnt be easier, just double all the mesaurments. Altough, its in place to make some structural reinforcment considering the size and loading of the airplane.

Pat, , ,

What I have is already drawn at 1/3 scale (140"), )so the blow-up is not very much.

I just sent you a pm with the details at 1/2 scale.

I purchased a set of 55% Cub plans from a fellow selling them on RCU. I 'm pretty sure the are BUSA plans blown up. It's BIG!! 17ft. wing. I'm tthinking about converting it to a super cub so as to fit a Weslake 342.
The wingspan doesn't bother me, it's the fuse...way longer than a standard Chev. Express van!! Too much Cub and not enough van.

Cheers. Dave.

Thanks for the information. I have some BUSA 33% plans which I could enlarge. Awhile back, there was a modeler out of Las Vegas who was trying to sell a 50% cub ARF. What ever the starting point for me, the plane will need to be "adjusted" to tolerate the load and the hours of flying in its research mission.

Thanks Again
Elson
