Big red beaver
Hi all,
I am trying to identify who makes this DH Beaver. It was an ARF and is now some years old. As my son is mad keen on this aircraft I need to build a suitable main wing, my guess would be that it would be 100”-115”. The Fuse is about, 1700mm 66.9”
I am looking for some wing plans.
Thanks in advance to anyone that can help.
Regards Ross

I think you're in the wrong forum, but a co-worker of mine had a yellow one similar to that, but I don't think it was an ARF. Does it say Ward-air on it (it kinda looks like it, but the arm is covering it partially)? I believe his did, or might have been Ptarmigan airways. I'll check for you.

Hi, yes that's the one in yellow. Do you know if he still has the remains of the wing?
The last owner said the wings just shatter if hit. So all I have is the body at this stage.
I'm reluctant to buy a new wing and would rather build one.

Have a look at Mr. Aerodesign out of Canada. He has a large scale of the Beaver and the wing might me adaptable to your Fuse. Also Unionville hobbies make a 1/4 scale and their wing might work both are U build kits.

Unioville is available from GReat Hobbies also out of Canada. http://www.greathobbies.com/vendor/v...nfo.php?id=UVH

I actually think there is one of those hanging at my local hobby shop HOBBY HAVEN ,Urbandale Iowa for sale. (the red one)
The cost would be insane obviously to ship down there, and I don't think it was cheap anyway? But If I recall correctly the wing is a constant chord. If you could get a tracing of the airfoli you should be able to flesh it out.. Assuming some building experience. Also you might be able to find a kit with a similar wing, like a telemaster or something ..simply build it with the notch to fit your fuse, get the angle of attack close, and balance it right ..you are in the air!

RE: Big red beaver
Ha, funny you say Telemaster, I now have a Telemaster wing! I was given this Friday. Its about 15 inches shorter and 1 inch wider. I'll have a play and see what I can come up with.
As we are now almost $ for $ I should start buying some kits to keep me busy.
I guess buying the complete Beaver would be very costly to Oz
I son is pretty happy and is looking forward to getting the wing sorted out.
Thanks guy's your knowledge is fantastic.
Regards Down under. Warming up for summer.
