Tony
What size cable did you use for you aileron pull pull ? 4-40 or 0.32 ? I am going to be using pulleys like your cub has.
Thanks
Billy

Warning....,
Do not use K&S streamline ali tubing for wingstruts on a 1/3 scale Cub - they are just not strong enough!! You need quite a bit more wall thickness to make it a proposition.
They migh just make it under tension, but any negative G's will surely make them somewhat unhappy......
However, you can safely use them if you run something through them and use that to fasten at each end - like a 4.40 rod - just run it through and plug the ends of the ali tube with whatever will allow you to finish it to the right shape and keep the rod centered in the tube. Then you get to use standard RC fittings as well.
Alternatives could be from Sea Commander (makers of fantastic scale floats & Canadian too!) - and are suppliers of heavier wall streamline tubing - http://www.seacommander.com/newproduct1.asp
Or stainless steel streamline tube from Toni-Clark in Germany - http://www.toni-clark.com/index_en.htm
My 2c.
Cheers, Mike

I am not using the alum. struts . I am using Balsa USA shaped wing struts.
https://www.balsausa.com/store/categ...id_category=31.
1/2 x7/8 on front
3/8 x 5/8 on back
And misterbill is right if you use k&B run a 4.40 rod threw it. I would also put a little epoxy and mircoballoon in each end.

Hello There:
You may not be aware, I have the original Mylars for Bob's Cub. I also have a number of the Cub Decals.
Bob's model weighed 32 lbs. I helped out on the test flights, back in 1980. Bob rebuilt the original into a L-4,
this was completed just before Bob passed away. I have this in storage.

Hi guys - a cowl made from Bob's original, complete with seam lines, cutouts marked, is available for $49.99 from The Hobby Barn in Arizona. - http://hobbybarn.com/products.php?cat=112
He mentioned it in his build article.
I have one, and it's epoxy glass, and really excellent.
Remember too, that a Balsa USA Cub is quite a bit wider (more than an inch if I remember correctly) than a Nelitz Cub, so a windscreen might need modification....
Cheers, Mike

I used 1/32" Stainless Steel, it is C&D leadout wires from Sullivan. The size of cable provided for the rudder just doesn't like to bend around the pulley without excessive tension.

Wonder why they list the plans as out of stock? It been this way for sometime. I ended up buying a set from someone on ebay or the like.

Thanks Tony
Misterbill is right on the cowl but they where out of stock last time I check but now I see they have them again So I will be buying one myself from hobbybarn. And yes I know the BUSA cub is wider but the windscreen will work. I have two sets of plans one from hobbybarn(old set) and one from ebay they are the same.
Thanks Misterbill and Tony for the info.

These are 1/3 scale Cub wheels, the one on the left is pneumatic with scale lettering, the one on the right is the current foam jobbie. The one on the left is discontinued. If memory serves me correct they are 5 1/4" in diameter.
