I have wanted a DP Super Cub as long as they were first announced. Some other distributor should take up where he left off as I doubt they could keep them in stock. H9 has there J3 1/4 scale which looks good but not as nice as the DP was. I eventually found a WM 1/4 scale cub which was ok for what I wanted and got it RTF for $350 with a G-26. I ordered a DP Super Cub cowel from fiberglassspecialties and will be cutting flapps out next week. My buddy has the H9 and has already cut out the flaps and is just waiting on his cowel to arrive. We are both using the Dubro 6" inflatable wheels inflated to about 6.5". I have wanted a PA-18 as long as I have been flying. After my flaps are done I will finally have one. Here is a pic.....

RE: Dave Patrick Super Cub Availability
I have a DP Super Cub! 'Bought it from an individual 'bout a hundred mi. from me. 'Found him by surfin' th' club sites' want ads.
That's about the only way anyone's gonna get one o' these li'l beauties. I noticed you have the vortex generators on your wing; how well do they work for you? Regards, RD |
RE: Dave Patrick Super Cub Availability
Hey RD nice catch! Most people dont know what they are or do. Mine are alittle far apart at almost 3". I need to put them around 2". They dropped my stall by about 1-2 mph but the big diff was on the elevator. I have them under the stab just fwd of the hing and they made my elevator much more effective at slow speed. Before I put them on I could not do 3 point landings due to my elevator stalling out before the wing. Now I can do 3 pointers with no problem.

RE: Dave Patrick Super Cub Availability
I did a li'l research on 'em a while back, so yeah, I recognised 'em right off. 'Never heard of 'em bein' used on a stab tho'. Howsabout some dimensions an' suchlike. I may try t' incorporate a set on mine when th' time comes. Same size as on th' wing?
Tnx, RD |
RE: Dave Patrick Super Cub Availability
Hi Everyone,
I want to personally clarify as best as I can with DPM situation. We (Cermark) are currently working with Dave Patrick to bring DPM back into the market. We looked at several factors that we felt important to us, you and our industry; 1) Dave Patrick is a strong designer, and has given much to our industry 2) There are still much creative juices left in Dave Patrick 3) Cermark can help minimize some of the business logistic and vendor issues that DPM experienced previously. So we are moving ahead in bring DPM back to our industry. We want to provide Dave as much resources as possible to allow him to focus on creative aspect of design, QC portion of production, and teaching portion of flying for DPM . As for service and logistics, we are in the process of setting up. Please give us approximately 30-40 days integrating telephone, email and website. A couple of issues discussed on this thread: parts will be limited, because we don't have anything. Secondly we will try our best to make a few parts available, however they may not be the exactly the same as the original (mold issues). As for the DPM items, here are the plan; a) Available now MAX adhesive - made in USA, thin / medium / thick with special patented cap in 20g and 50g sizes Ultra Tailwheel - Wire and Leaf style versions in small, medium and large sizes (with limited quantity on hand). b) Available in 60 days MAX adhesive - made in USA, thick foam safe CA in 20g and 50g sizes MAX accelerator for CA c) Availabe in 4-6 months Super Piper Cub - Vero Beach version in yellow Ultracote d) In discussion Clipped Wing Piper Cub - with racing strips in white base Ultracote Blue head engines If you have any suggestion for me, you can email me directly at [email protected] Peace, Steven Chao, CERMARK (562) 906-0808 |

RE: Dave Patrick Super Cub Availability
I assure you, it is not an hoax. As we promised, we like to get the DPM project up and going in 4-6 months after Toledo. We are still in the ball park +-, but still in the park so far. Thank you for posting the concerns.
You guys are more than welcome to call us at Cermark (562) 906-0808, or email directly at [email protected]. Oh, I forgot to mention, I rarely check my pm box. So please email me. I do see that I have a PM.... Peace, Steven Chao, Cermark |
