You know.....this whole electric business is getting easier by the day. There may be a day soon when ALL of my planes will be electric. I am getting tired of glow fuel oil staining my rugs in my Jeep, and making my balsa wood on my planes mooshy soft. In a few more years....the EPA will crack down so hard on the flying fields that all of us will be force to go electric. I personally think that would be a good thing!
So Andy......if you get the Gee Bee electrified, will you post the results please? Good luck!

Although I prefer the new Great Planes GeeBee, the Kyosho GeeBee is still beautiful and has a correct color scheme for the model.
You'll need good power for that model so either call Tom Cimato at [link=http://www.maxcim.com/]MaxCim Motors[/link] or Shawn Plummer at [link=http://www.aero-model.com/]Aero-Model[/link] for a Hacker B50 setup.
Good luck!

Yeah.....this bird will be a tough one to convert. I would say if you have the extra $$$$ you should go with a brushless set up and L-poly cells. I am not the one to give advise on exactly what to use but here are a couple of links that may help.
[link=http://aircraft-world.com/]Electric RC Aircraft[/link]
[link=http://www.b-p-p.com/razor.htm]Bishop Power Products[/link]
[link=http://www.allerc.com/]All Electric RC[/link]
There is another site that I would like to find for you. The site has some awesome planes and brushless systems. I had even talked to the owner on the phone. Very nice and is a L-poly beleiver. I saw some video of his planes in action....Holy Moly!!!!! They rip.....for over 45 minutes of extreme earobatics. I will keep searching until I find it and I wil get back to you.

Anyone else converted on yet?
It looks like a pretty simple way that the Pletenberg versionw as done. I am curious how the batteries are affixed?
At the field though you will have to charge the batts in the plane.

I looked at one at the LHS today. It is smaller than I thought it would be, but looks beautiful. I think that I will have to make soem 6 cell packs as the cowling does not look big enough for 14 cells.
I would want to try an AXI 4120 14 on 12-14 cells and a 13x8 prop.

I could fly it once in there....take off and splat!
I love Golden era racers and have thought about some fanfold ones for indoor. Maybe like Gary's Corsair size RFFS would be too cool!
You never know what I am working on, rest assured I am always working on something.
