Default Will this work?

Hi Guys,
I'm converting an old gas trainer (a beater) to electric. I'm using a Speed 400 motor, geared to a 9x6 prop with a NiMh 1100 battery. The total weight is 35 oz. Will the motor pull this plane?
I going for a slow trainer.

Any ideas here?

Thanks.

I'd have to say no. My own personal rule of thumb for how much weight a Speed 400 can effectively power, regardless of plane type, cell count, or gearing, is 25oz.

You might be able to get away with a Speed 480 on 10 cells. This will give you about 50% more power with minimal weight gain.
