converting a MW foam cardinal

OK, I crashed my EDF and have the motor and the electronics left. The fan was damaged. I have a 4300 kv inrunner that I would like to use in a prop plane. The plane is the old MidWest foam cessna cardinal. It has a 46 inch wing and flies real nice with a Cox Medallion 09, designed for .049 -.15. I think I used a 6 inch prop on it. Flying weight is around 40 ounces or less. I have the 35 amp speed control, 5 - 9gram servos and 5 2200 11.1v lipos to use in it.
So what kind of prop gearbox do I need to hook the motor up to, gear ratio., prop size etc to get the plane in the air? I do not know off hand what shaft size the motor is.

Hi there
I just finished building/converting mine for E-Power.
I bought the kit for pennies years ago at a clearance sale, adn finally decided to go electric with it.
I am using a Dualsky Motor with a E-Max 30A Speedcontrol, and a 1450MAH 2S battery, alternate a 1450MAH 3S battery, guess with the latter it will fly better.
GWS 9x5 prop, 2 microservos in the wing and 2 std servos in the fuse. Allover weight is 820grams.
The only acryl paint I had at hand gives a dull finish but I can leave with that.
Enjoy

All done, mine weighs 34 ounces compared to your 29 ounces. I fly with a 1020 kv motor on a 30 amp esv. Like you, 4 servos, two in the wing then aileron and elevator. I use a 3s 20c 2200 pack with mine. The wing was modified for bolt on. I cut a acess hatch in the bottom for easy battery removal. I fly off grass so I use a 8 inch prop for ground clearance. I do have the LG installed on mine. Once you get some air blowing over the rudder it steers like it has steeraable nose gear .. it is actually fixed. Plane flies like a good trainer would and the plane design is actually set up like a trainer. The ailerons are not overly controlled, that is you can barely do a aileron roll but the rudder is very effective. Anyone doing the cardinal would probably do better just to skip the ailerons. rudder and elevator is just fine.

I have been trying to post photos but there is some bug preventing it. I don´t know what to do...neither with the multi-file uploader nor the normal uploader...
trying again now...but there appear a message like this:
"get error while validating the file: Unable to find file DCxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx in C:\Wndows\Temp\Uploader Temp at function ?x2c" when attempting to upload thru the multifle uploader and " 500 internal server error" when attempting to upload thru the normal uploader...
Any thoughts?
