Default Dave Shadel and YS split

I called YS support today and was informed that Dave Shadel is no longer affiliated with YS support.
This came as a great dissapointment to me, any info?

Oskartek,

This is 'old news'.

OMP, Chief and several others service YS engines now, as far as I know.

Since Henry Nelson decided to retire, Dave Shadel; a great guy, I must say; has also 'demoted' himself also.

See what is no longer there, on his [link=http://www.pspec.com/]web site[/link].

yes a great guy, but i gotta say that i was very dissapointed when i purchased the last quart of "Ultra Oil" from him.
anyone who has bought and used Ultra Oil in the past is well accustomed to the smell of this oil and it's ability to preserve.
the last quart which comes in 4 -8oz bottles was not the original oil that was always sold in the past.................nope, you now get a 4 dollar quart of Mobil 1 for the 28 bucks.
total rip off in my book.
when i asked why, i was told that the Bean Oil maker went out of business. when i asked who it was, i was told that it could not be revealed.............WTH?
obviously i still have that bittersweet taste in my mouth about it, but i feel it's fair to warn other wouldbe buyers of the stuff...................somehow spending 28 bucks on something you just can't find in the shops feels fine, but when you know you just paid 28 bucks for a quart of oil that cost 4 bucks...........well you get it.

I always like the Performance Specialties Silencers myself. I still have a couple that I use. It was a bummer when they quit selling them.

Jaka!!! Surely, you know that the silicone components of the YS fuel system are damaged by petroleum products. Synthetic only please!!

Hi!
ATF oil works as good!
so does Marvel Mystery Oil
air tool oil
rislone
etc etc.....but YS engines do not like any type of petroleum products at all.

but i gotta ask, what is your point?

Go ahead and use ATF in YOUR YS engine Jaka, soon you will be replacing ALL the silicone parts inside of your engine. Thats why YS says NOT to use petroleum based oils ....its a BIG No-No.

I just bought some Moble 1 oil for my son's car. It's regular price was almost $8, so maybe you didn't get ripped off quite so much.

Fox sells the same red synthetic oil that seems to be the same stuff as Klotz for a lot less.  You can also buy similar oil from racing suppliers for less, but sometimes only if you buy 5 gallons or more.

Obviously you guys haven't bought Moble 1 in a while.  It is under 8 bucks in Alabama and at or over 8 buck in California.

I bought a jug several months ago at Walmart's and it averaged $4 something a quart. However, I've used Mobil One for more than 25 years, and I've seen the price jump drastically up and down for no good reason.

What type of oil is Moble 1? What are the uses in model airplane glow engines?

Mobil one is auto engine oil and it is NOT 100 percent synthetic. They used to have a disclaimer on the label that read: "100% synthetic, exclusive of carrier oil". I'm not sure if that is still on the bottle, but auto oil does not have to be 100% synthetic to have this designation on the label by law.

Who knows? Does the carrier oil make up 90% of the contents of the bottle?
