Muffler bolt size for LA40?
Do you know the size of the two bolts that hold the muffler to the motor on the OS LA40? They appear to be 30mm long and 3 mm in diameter but do not know the thread size. If anyone knows, please post it here. I know you can order them but are quite expensive for just two bolts. I'd rather purchase several of them for spares as I frequently seem to lose them. Thanks

I just bought 3mm by 30 mm long screws at Tru Value hardware store for 33 cents apiece. They have a Phillips head and I would prefer socket head, but they work for my Evolution .36 engine. I will use a split lockwasher under the head and maybe Locktite. I would take my muffler with me and make sure the screws you get fit the tapped holes in the muffler.

Check the ISO standard for metric bolts:

If you have the bolt, for the pitch just count the number of crests in 10 mm length and divide by 10.

Dave, that is the exact set I have, I tried to find them on the MicroMark site but couldn't, I found them through a search engine. I have several pieces of MicroMark equipment. They have some really handy high quality stuff.
