Webra .32 Plug Choice

Gents I'm finishing an Outlaw ARF with a Webra 32 & MCP exhaust.
It's a used low-time motor. I pulled the plug to identify it (thinking I'd get a couple spares) and it's like nothing I'd seen before: long threads with an idle bar. I see no writing on the plug to identfy it. Filament looks good.
So I'd like to get a couple spares. I did a search "Webra and 32 and plug" and did see what I wanted.
Any ideas? If possible, an "ordinary/avail at LHS" plus (ie, OS) would be more convenient than some of the rarer makes (K&B, Rossi, Fox, etc etc).

You can use a Fox RC Long plug in the engine just fine.
If you want, with the engine being a Schnuerle ported design you can run a FOX Long standard plug too, as the Schnuerle ported engines don't really need a idle bar to work OK.

But would I be right that a Webra 32 doesn't take "run of the mill" plugs I can grab at my lhs, such as OS?
Is there an OS option ?

Jeff,
I believe your engine has a long-reach head.
Being a rather small engine, it would need a medium-hot glow-plug.
The are about *a million* different long-reach medium glow-plugs to chose from.

The Fox Standard Long or Fox Standard RC Long Plugs would fine with that engine.
If you want you could use the Fox Gold RC Long or Gold Long plugs too.
The Fox Blaster plug would work too.
I don't see any reason to go with a OS 8 glow plug, unless that is all you can get.

A couple plugs there are from Tower, and my LHS is (of course) a Tower retailer so they're easy to get. I'll try the blaster.
The plug that's in there has an idle bar; should I go ahead and run it or just get a new pl;ug? What's an idle bar do??

My Feedback: (1)
Idle bars are generally not needed with modern engines. The idea was to stop fuel from dousing the element, and it is generally considered that this was more a problem with engines of older design, pre-Schneurle porting. They are sometimes used in inverted installations to improve idle reliability, but I don't have personal experience to say yea or nay on that one.
One thing I noted in the advice columns of yore, was to make sure you use idle bar plugs where the idle bar is machined into the body of the plug, versus welded-on as those have the potential to come loose and you can imagine the havoc. No idea whose are and whose are not of this construction, I have not used an idle bar plug in a donkey's age.

Thx MJ. Idle bars preceeded me in rc, so I'd not heard.
I'm going to try one fox long med heat & one traaxas same on this webra 32 and see what she prefers. I'll just keep the idle bar plug as a spare.

Actually unless you are into pylon racing or high performance free flight competition or control line speed, whether you use a idle bar or don't use a idle bar glow plug, will not make any difference. You won't be able to measure the difference in RPMs on the sport engines. Fox typically ships their RC engines with idle bar glow plugs anyway. So it doens't hurt anything.

Well, I see guys always going into the LHS and buying really expensive glow plugs imported from overseas, when we have local brands that work just as good, and they get to save money too. but then I suppose if you are overseas then our local brands would be the foreign brands.
I quit buying one expensive imported brand that was sold here after buying 5 glow plugs and having each plug last one flight before going bad if that long. Everyone else at the flying field was having the same issue too with it. I have not trusted them since. The company ignored everyone and acted as though there was no problem with the plugs it was all out fault. A year or so later it finally came out that they had a bad batch of plugs made.
Now when I was pylon racing I used Rossi plugs a lot. The O'Donnell glow plugs worked good for me too. I remember using the Glo-Bee plugs years ago and having pretty good luck with them. I have a couple cards of O'Donnel plugs to use up but they seem to last a long time, so it'll take a while. I remember using O-Donnell glow plugs in RC cars a lot too. The O'Donnel plugs held up pretty good with the high RPMs and nitro we all ran in the cars. The glow plug Saito puts on their new engines when you buy it seems to last for ages without going bad, so using those glow plugs is a good bet, but the Fox Miracle plugs work good in the engines for me anyway.
I recently discovered that the Russian glow plugs from the old iron curtain days are amazingly good too, apparently they used more platinum in their coil elements at the time.
The McCoy plugs are pretty good too.
But when I need a new glow plug I invariably replace it with a Fox plug if it isn't oneof the other plugs I am still using up. No sense buying an expensive plug from Asia here in the USA.
