For anyone interested i have heard both ways to mount this motor the ys people from Central Hobbies and Mr Hyde say you must mount this on a 100 dollar plus soft mount so i did had all kinds of motor trouble because of vibration at idle on the soft mount and ect. I finally mounted it on a j-tec aluminum mount fitted for the 140 directly to firewall on Hangar nine Taylorcraft today. Let me tell you there is no vibraition all all at the tail like you would think and i was told. The motor doesnt shake at all on ldle and thru out the rpm band. Running Wildcat 20/20 fuel and it run great usually use cool power Heli 30% but was gettng to many rpms around 9700 on cool power on a 18/6 wide apc. Now i am turning 8700 static with carb restrictor in place which is just where this motor likes to run on high end. Flew 10 flights to day with the Wildcat fuel and no flame outs like some have said would happen on a high viscosity fuel . The transition was great also and very crisp ONE HAPPY CAMPER TODAY AT THE FIELD Bruce s

I have learned that if you want to know what the best setup for anything, you must talk to the people who use the product in the field. The manufacturer and sales people are going to try to sell you something. That's their job. People using the product only want to share their experiences with you. Your findings do not surprise me in the least. The YS 1.4DZ is known as a smooth running engine compared to others of comparable size. If you mount it to a stable enough platform, vibration will not be an issue.
