My asp 91 4st just craped its bearings after a grand total of about 1 1/2 hrs . They look very cheap and if its all good after the replacements are in Ill still be in front . Other than this slight setback its run faultlessly [:-] .No dramas with my 3 other asp - magnums . I have replaced the bearings in my 25 2 st and I.I.R.C. they didnt look like these ones and lasted way longer . Cheers the pope

LA 40s run fine just dont make much power, ditto for the 46, but the 65 is another story.
Iprefer the FP series over the LA but have seen a lot of liner issues with any of the nickel ones. Given enough oil they are all reasonably reliable.

I run 20% oil in all BB OS's and 22-24% in all of the bushed engines. Never peeled a liner, never had any issues except to have them run well.

What kind of oil are you adding to bring the percentage up?

Those really aren't head gaskets anyway, are they? I thought they were shims to be used or removed in order to raise or lower compression depending on what percent nitro being run in the engine. An engine run on no nitro will run on higher compression than will an engine with, say, 20% nitro fuel. In other words, as nitro content goes up, compression ratio needs to come down.

Me thinks that as well! Cheers the pope
