Default Mds .48

Hi-

I am considering purchasing an MDS .48. It is slightly used (about 2 gallons). I have never used an MDS before and would appreciate any comments, advice etc.. I generally run 15%-20% fuel in my HB's or OS's.

Thanks,

Pipeman

I have an older black head MDS 46 and it is a great engine. It is powerful, dependable, and easy starting. I run 10%nitro fuel in all my engines with no problem but I understand that the MDS engines were designed to run on lower nitro and don’t like high nitro.

Be sure that it has the latest carburetor (I believe it’s a C-2). I’ve seen some posts regarding occasional problems with the MDS 48 with the old style.

IA, most likely you'll need to get some 5% nitro fuel for the MDS

Default MDS 48 Information

I would like to thank you guys for your replys regarding an MDS .48. I was also wondering, who makes the MDS line of products and where could I get some product information. I just recently got back into the hobby and feel like a fish out of water sometimes.

Thanks,

Pipeman

The MDS engines are made in Russia and distributed in the US by Horizon.
