Can you use your old 1 way bearing for the set screw modification?

Can you please explain what it is you are wanting to do here? I don't think that any of us know what it is you are asking about. There is no context for the question.

The only place you find one-way clutch bearings is in RC cars. I've not heard of a "set screw modification" for a one-way clutch bearing in the nearly 20 years I've been in RC. I'm with Earl - please elaborate on your question.
