I was thinking of trying an 18x6 dynathrust prop on my OS 1.6fx. I got some hints from another thread that Dynathrust props are not very good. Has anyone had problems with Dynathrust props? If anyone has good or bad experience with dynathrust props let me know.
Thanks

There were some problems reported years ago about Dynathrust props coming apart during operation. As I recall, that turned out to be based on people under-propping the engines and over-revving the props on larger gas engines.
I've run Dynathrust 15x6's on my old Enya 90 4C since the day I bought it.... never had a bit of trouble with them. A bit of a "club" compared to a lot of the new designs of props out there, but they seem to work just fine.
Just select the right prop to provide a decent load on the engine and you should be fine. Guys I fly with are running APC 16x10's on their 1.60's and getting good results.... the Dynathrust 18x6 might be a bit light for the engine, but then again it is a 'heavy' prop..... give it a try. Seems to me the info that used to be included with a Dynathrust said they were tested up to like 12,000 rpm..... keep it below that and you should have no problems.

About 10 years ago, as I recall, The owner of Dynathrust moved his operation from southern Florida to Tennessee. He designs the props and has them manufactured. His new supplier decided to save money by leaving out the fiberglass filling, so naturally the props had no strength and there were several failures.
I talked to the owner at an IMAA meet and he bought all the bad props back and changed his supplier. I use them and I haven't heard of a failure for years.
