Its not out yet. The specs say its 5oz heavier than a OS .91FX or Magnum XLS .91-A. That's not good. It must be all the pretty castings in the case. We'll see when it comes out.

According to the Horizon Hobby website, this engine is now in stock. The price seems right, and I am looking at this engine to power a Funtana 90 or Extreme Flight Yak 54.
I would appreciate any hands on experience that anyone has with this engine. I have an OS 91FX, I am hoping for something with a little more power (10,300 on an APC 15 x 4 W, with 10% nitro on the 91FX). I would also like to know if the engine has the mounting dimensions as the 91FX.

I just got one from my LHS. $174.99 and same dimensions as a normal .61-.91 size engine. Going into a Harrier 3D with a 15x4 or 16x4.

My Feedback: (102)
It turns a 13x6 at 12,100, 13x8 at 10,400, a 14x6 at 10,800 and a 16x6 at 8,100, user friendly, strong running and smooth. The muffler is way loud at 102.5 db is the way the tester put it. The remote NV allows the fuel to either run back into tank or into the carb when it is stopped. They eliminated this tendency by moving the NV to the carb, this also made it easier to start.

Please see this link to another Evolution 1.00 Forum. We talk about the Evolution 1.00 on the Funtana 90s.

There is a review in the latest R/C Report magazine by Gordon Banks.

It is kind of hard to get exact comparisons on rpm for various prop sizes and manufacturers, but it looks like the NX 1.00 is less powerful than the OS 91FX. I didn't see one published figure where the NX 1.00 pulled the same or more rpm than the 91FX. The NX 1.00 is a little bit less money, but I would expect that for a Chinese motor versus an OS. Also the OS is a ringed motor, which generally cost a little bit more money.
I guess if it wasn't for the noise issue I would consider this motor, but over 100 db would break my club's noise rules. I find it kind of surprise that such a noisy engine puts out such poor power, usually a quieter muffler is more restrictive and provides less power. It looks like I will have to buy another 91FX.

They were running a smallish prop (14x6) during the comparison so the noise is to be expected. Also they were running 10% where most of us run 15%. I have one in a Harrier 3D and its WAY stronger than the Saito 100 (on 30%) that it replaced and My Saito (on 30%) runs the same power wise at my 91FX. I will post some RPM figures tomorrow after flying.
FYI, I am trying a 15x4 and a 16x4 on the 1.00NX tomorrow...
