MVVS .45

Cplanes,
I would say it can be pretty old.
Until adopting the fixed trend, about two years ago, of using the blue head for engines up to .49 and gold for the competition models, MVVS used many different anodized colors for their heads. There were red, brown, black, gold, green and neutral heads and those were in all .40-.49 sizes.
The larger engines used only neutral and black that I know of.
If the carburettor has a sealing ring near the bottom of the spigot, and/or a springy high speed needle, which threads outside the nozzle, it is pretty old.
If it is a rigid main needle, with an idle stop screw on top of the carburettor, it could be 3-4 years old.
If the side of the engine has a large 'm' casting, it can be pretty old.
MVVS engines have always made well above average power.

Hello!
I would say there isn't such an animal.....During the last 15 years that I have been the Swedish distributor of MVVS engines no gold head MVVS beside the .40 "Q-500" engine that was launched 2 years ago has been produced. The .45 (7,5cc) engine was first made with a polished aluminum head, then a red anodized head and now a blue head.
Are you sure that it isn't a .40 "Q-500" engine you have?? Or a .45 with a "Q-500" head?
Could you show us some pictures please!
Regards!

Here is the picture of the engine in question:
Well it is not going to allow me to submit a picture due to my programs.
The engine does have a Gold Head and does have a big M on the side of the engine
and on the other side I believe a 6,5. I am guessing it is pretty old due to the
above post but appears to be in good condition.. Let me know what you guys think??
Thanks

Cplanes,
The 6.5 is the cubic centimeter equivalent of .40 cid.
Could you be wrong about the displacement?
The big 'm' does signify it is quite old.
The new Q-500 Jan was referring to is in this photo.

It looks like the engine is going to be a .40 instead of a .45
The engine is stamped on the side 6,5. Thanks for all the responses
I really appreciate the information on this subject. Thanks Again.

A little louder but alot stronger than a .46FX IMHO.
