They are good engines when new and last a long time. The engine is probably at least 15 yearsold.

It essentially has all the same specs and runs the same as the current Super Tigre.

I use a 12-6 on my ST G61 ringed but I've had a couple of ABC ones and a couple of other ringed ones.

I have a COMO 40 which looks like the old Super Tiger S40 beside me here.

I could get all into the engines origins and all the marketing if you wish?

Enjoy,

Jim

I'm always buying and selling motors. What do you think about the supertiger .61 on a 40 size avistar. I run a tower 46 on it now. I see that the supertiger is about 6oz. heavier than the tower. I just like to see what different motors will do. I'm sure you are thinking, buy a 60 size plane if you want to use a 60 size motor. I guess I'm out for the thrill of trying new things.

The spar is not strong enough in the wing of the Avistar. It's easy enough to burst the main spar with the Tower 46 on the plane.

The fuselage makes like a missle when the wing folds. If I were putting a Avistar together, I'd peel the covering back and fiberglass the center section?

You'll need to tie a brick onto the tail (about 3oz worth?)? Ought to go like all get out? But not for long with the 8oz tank.

Enjoy,

Jim

sansouci01, did you win this on ebay recently? If so, then you were the one who out bid me in the last minutes. [] LOL LOL You can run a 12x6 prop on it or an 11x7.5 for speed. Good luck with your engine and stay off of ebay.

In Christ,

Joel Chavez

Hey Joel,
I did win this motor on e-bay! Are you serious about me out bidding you. If so, that is too funny. I want to try this motor out and see how it runs. Maybe I'll give you the chance to buy it after all(lol)...Jeff
